I think none of us have enough information to be so judgemental. How long have they been friends? Thirty mentioned in the first post that this is a new relationship. If he is smart, successful, kind and good looking, I can see how she might want him to donate for her. And I don't agree that she should have asked the boyfriend AND Thirty to dinner (or wherever) to ask both of them. It is his decision and his alone. If he wants to walk away from their meeting and tell Thirty about it and ask her advice/thoughts/feelings that is one thing.

Did she say she wanted to do the nasty with him? I may have missed that. If she just wanted to get freaky with him she would probably use protection and just go at it for fun. Asking to father a child isn't just about getting laid.<br><br>
He did mention that he's not interested in kids, so maybe he already squashed the idea with her. Maybe they got into how the method would happen and we don't know those details either. She could have mentioned donating and then IVF. Who knows.

With all of the friends we had who had trouble conceiving I certainly would consider donating so long as my wife supported the decision and was able to sort out the legal issues to my satisfaction. I would be proud to help someone become a parent - I've had a lot of joy from my kids and I'd like to pass it forward.<br><br>
Not that this is an issue for me any longer.
