Looks like Lego. Designed with input by kids of all ages who were former patients of its predecessor.

I spent the night with the boy, slept on this bed/bench beneath his window. He came out of surgery at about 8 last night. 2 blebs. Look it up. Weird. They took a piece (small) of his lung out and stapled / glued / meshed it back together. He's got an epidural to help with the pain of the tube they have stuck in him, and is on morphine. Still in a good deal of pain, but they're managing it.

Beautiful building, beautiful staff.. "Hi, I'm Mary", said the surgeon. Everyone is first name basis, everyone is gentle with the kids.

Not much sleep, but even meeting moms and dads in the hallway at 3 has been an experience I'll never forget.

Thanks for the update, I'm glad things are going well so far. I hope that boybarian #2 doesn't end up having the same problem.

He's doing much better. I left at about 10 this morning and came back with his brother about 2 and in those 4 hours they'd adjusted the meds (morphine down, epidural up), and he's actually moving around a bit.

Neat place. Really. Kids can have their pets visit a couple of times a week in a special room for the purpose. I mean, who wouldn't miss their dog or cat? Right?

Want a snack? There's popcorn there for popping if you're feeling up for it and your doc says you can. Oh, and your mom made a dessert for you...

Neat place, but I'm bushed. I'm off for bed.

I had to feed him today (breakfast) because his left arm isn't or wasn't working all that well and he couldn't sit up straight at the time. I made airplane noises and big circles and said "This one is for Momma..." to some rather nasty glares. Hey... 15 years goes by real fast.
