for about a week. Recently I went through the Atlanta airport for a trip and I had a purse stolen.

It was a purse I had bought on Ebay, so no biggie, but I really, really liked it.

I found a similar one for sale on Ebay and bought it. Turns out the seller lives not

too far from Atlanta.

*sigh* I hate when people steal. Especially when I have to give them my suitcase, unlocked.

When I travel anymore I pack nothing that I really care about if it goes for a walk through TSA's never-land. Atlanta, Miami and Ft. Lauderdale airports are all packed with thieves. I'm going on a cruise in early November and flying on Delta. I'll carry my suit on board along with my carry on. But as for the suitcase, it's only going to have cheap Walmart clothes in it just in case it goes missing. Of course, since I have bought travel insurance maybe I'll declare some higher end manufacturers should that event happen.

I called the airline and they essentially told me it was a certain agency that was responsible.

Sadly it just wasn't possible to put it in my carryon.

ah well. Live, learn, get screwed.

In 50 years of flying all around the world I have had my suitcase not make a connecting flight 3 times and once had some cool shirts stolen from my bag in Miami.

Last month my bag was searched by TSA in ATL and I was sure something was missing. I'm glad they searched it because the stuff inside was jewellery making equipment for my daughter and must have looked pretty much like a bomb. Later GF called to say that if TSA stole my item they had broken into her house and put it backed where she last saw it. Arrggghhh!!!

I agree that there is nothing worse than seeing your stolen item go up for sale on ebay. I think that might cause me to seek vengeance.

Should we consider it a testament to our good taste then that we had items worth stealing? lol. Not usually the case with me!!

I'm not sure it's *the* bag but really coincidental.
Too bad you can't find out what the occupation of the seller is. If if ended up being a person who worked for an airline, or a certain government agency, that might be interesting.

But, still, almost impossible to prove.

Does anyone else wonder how these employees get this sh*t out at the end of the day? Do they hide it? How do you justify carrying out stuff you didn't bring to work? Or is the whole shift complicit?

I've worked places where I was checked going in and out. You'd think people responsible for security would be checked similarly.
