OK, maybe not evah, but it was bad.

The A/C in Lucy's car is on the fritz. We have had it to the dealer 3 times and each time they keep telling me it's not broken. Finally, I had had enough. I went balistic. (Lucy pulled me away and told me not to get into a fight with them, physical fight.)

We went for a ride in her car. The A/C clearly "cycled" on and off. "Normal," he says. "Fine," I say, "lets get a new car and see how often the A/C 'cycles' on and off!" Not once. All the while I keep telling him to get on the highway because we are gonna be driving a long way before the A/C kicks off. All the while he's telling me it's normal.

We get back to the dealer after a 30 minute ride to nowhere and the A/C never kicked off. I said lets get back into my car and see if it feels the same. So we do. And the A/C is on/off every 45 seconds.

"Normal," he says, "the parameters are set different in the 2 cars." I looked at him like he had a head full of shit(which he clearly did) and I asked him. "So what your saying is after 4 years of driving this car, my A/C has become the super fantastic A/C with powers of freezing that has not ever been seen before in this universe? The laws of physics cease to exsist in this car?" Clearly being a wise ass at this point.

I have now been at the dealer for almost an hour and a half and he goes in and says let me check some parameters. I see a mech. walk form the garage to the check in and I wait outside and cool off. After 10 minutes I went in and they are in agreement, the fvckin thing is broken. DUH.

I left the dealer thinking I still had enough time to get on my bike for my Tuesday hell ride. I start at 7:05. I'm 15 minutes in and sweating bullets. My legs are on fire and I can't keep up. Something is wrong, or I'm just not in the moment. I bagged it after about 30 minutes of suffering. I reached down to disengage the trainer from the tire there is the problem. I must have hit the brake and it was rubbing against the rim.

It was well after 8 by the time I was ready to go eat. No shower. Mad as hell. Missed workout. Feeling exhausted, I just didn't feel like cooking. I ate some watermelon, showered and went to bed.

Sympathy for someone who needs AC in Feb? Yeah, sell crazy elsewhere, we're all full up here.

Unless this was related to defroster operation...

Delaing with the dealer. Always good for some stress and frustration.

I HATE it when they try to tell me nothing is wrong with my car. I had a similar thing happen. I had a noise in my wheel well, and they replaced something. It went away for about a week and came back. I went back and they replaced the SAME THING!! I told them they had already replaced that and they fed me a line of sh1t saying it was a different one or something stupid. It continued a week later. I finally go back a 3rd time, and they say they can't reproduce the sound. So, I had the guy get in my car. I drove it about 100 ft. in the parking lot and it made the sound. I asked if he could hear that. He tried to tell me it was "body flexure". WTF?? It didn't do it when I got the car. Why would it just start? They had no answer for that, of course, except it just develops over time or something stupid like that. They were such liars and idiots!! So, I figured out they were telling me all this because I was a WOMAN and they thought I was stupid as far as cars were concerned. So, I had DH take the car in with me. Guess what happened? They said they'd look at it and call us. They called us before we even got home and said it was fixed. It ended up just being a bolt that was not torqued correctly. DH asked what the torque was so he could fix it if it did it again. It never did it again. Of course, they were all apologetic, but we never went back to that dealer again! I hate when they try to take advantage of women. I am not stupid!!

Sorry you had such a bad day. Today can only get better!!

Car mechanics PISS me off....

I had one where the mechanic told me when I asked him, "If this were your daughter's car, what would you tell her to do?" (they couldn't replicate why my car kept dying).

him: "I'd tell her to have her boyfriend drive her around."
I finally took it back to the dealer (Saturn)......they found the problem in 10 minutes and while they had to order a part, they were able to fix it in less than 3 days AND they gave me a car to drive.

Grrrrrr........

Yep...I agree with T...you had Hell Tuesday.

This is what gets me.... I appologized for losing my cool. Nothing from them.

They fed Lucy the line and she thought it was right, until I drove her in my truck, then she got pissed that they were feeding her shit. Never scorn PR woman that isn't feeling well.

They better have the damn thing fixed today or I'm parking it in the owners spot and camping out behind it.

Sorry to hear about your Tuesday, but I am proud that you had enough sense of mind to adapt a line from My Cousin Vinny.

Vinny: "So, the laws of physics cease to exist in your kitchen?"
Sheldon: "The laws of physics cease to exist in this car?"

Very good. Spoken like a true smarta$$.

My all time favorite movie. I use lines from it all the time because they are so right on most of the time.

When I have patient in my office and they ask me if those are my medals I always say, "Their's just the two of us here" and they aren't yours. (From the first jail scene.) My pictures are all over the office and they all know I'm a triathlete. The question just begs for a smartass reply.

Sounds like you built up enough in the karma bank to have a great day today.

I hate car mechanics, especially as a woman.

I just had a similar situation. I took my car in to have the brakes replaced. While they were working on that they discovered that an axle boot had gone bad and I needed to replace the axle which was a $200 job so no biggie. The car has 160K miles on it, so they probably not conning me. After I get the car back, everytime I get on and off the gas, even if I'm moving I hear a clacking noise in the drive train which was not there before. I have a Subaru, so something got screwed up with the AWD mechanism. I took it back to the shop and had to leave it there for the day for them to check it out. When I picked it up late last night they said that they could not find anything wrong with the car. So I'm like ok, I'll be back tomorrow AM and I'll take the mechanic out for a test so he can hear the noise which was not there before. So ths morning the new noise which suddenly appeared, has now dissapeared, but they check the car and could not find anything wrong. I suppose that they could not just admit that their mechanic missed torquing a bolt down the the proper ft/lb as indicated by the maintenance manual. Whatever....

That totally sucks. Sorry to hear it, but I am impressed that you chose to eat WATERMELON! That kind of episode would have set me off looking for something far more comforting (ie. not good for me!).

Hope the rest of the week is better for you!

Sounds like you went to the Ford dealer on Sawmill... THREE friggin' times I had to take the van in for the same thing. The passenger side window didn't always work. So they replaced the motor. Twice. Each time needing to have the van ALL DAY. Uh, excuse me--mom of four kids. I NEED my van! Each time, I'd drive up there. My older guys were old enough to stay home alone, but not the younger two. So, we'd load up the bikes and drive up to the dealership. Drop off the van, unload the bikes and ride home. Repeat 6hrs later after they had "fixed" the problem. The THIRD time I took it in, they had to deal with ME, not hubby. Look guys, IT AIN'T THE MOTOR!!! Guess what--it was a loose wire....... We will never, ever buy another vehicle from there!!!
