It's that time of year... time to dream and plan and set goals for 2011.

In that spirit, I pose this weeks question:

If the Running Santa could grant you an expense paid trip and entry into any race next year, where would you go?

I think I would choose Comrades Ultra in South Africa or the Easter Island Marathon... but since Santa's paying I'll go with Comrades.

Nice job everyone on keeping the legs moving and blood flowing during Thanksgiving week (and during nasty weather for our friends up north and across the pond)

JJJessee…. 45.4 with a nice mix of rest days

Mcsolar99….72.5 and a bit of mt biking. AG placement in a 5k xc too!

Better than yesterday…. 32.7, including a 5k race

Evanflein…. 33.9 miles to start off her taper (how DOES she do it in all that snow????)

Hemerocallus…. 26.2 miles - hey that’s a magic number in some circles

Hally …. 5.5 running, 9 hiking and a bit of mt biking while doing the family thing

OrangeMat….36.2 miles during a rest week.

Opie….24.21 including turkey trotting

Fortunate One ….40 miles of pecan pie burnin’

Sans Souci …. 41 miles including an icy race. Lots of yoga to balance it out.

Thanks, Dove! Great question!!

On a similar theme to JJJ's, one of these would probably do it for me. Would go hand in hand with DH's ultimate fly fishing trip!

Heme, that Goat run looks really fun! I'd love to do a race in NZ... I've always wanted to run either the Berlin marathon or Prague (or both? just how generous is this santa?). But with so many to choose from, I bet you could almost do the dart board approach and have a good time. Especially is santa is covering the travel and all other expenses....

Great question! Most of my long travels over the last 8 years have involved long races like marathons, so I would like Santa to bring me a trip to Portland for the Pints to Pasta 10k in September.

Plan changing to prepare for 5k next weekend:

Thanks Dove! I'm too embarrassed to go back and finish up my weekly from last week since I opted out of running the entire weekend. I think it's my last weekend "off" for quite some time, so I decided to just play lazy. . . .

If I could have any expense paid running adventure anywhere, I'm not even sure I would choose a marathon. I think I would like to go on one of those running cruises where they get to run on each island they stop at.

------------- plan --------------------- what I did

mon: ...... RAL ...................... 5 mi (46:34)

tue: ......... track .................... rest

Oooh! I would love to go to Comrades with you, Dove; NZ with Heme; and Iceland with JJJ! Add to my "running" country total of 16.

But I'm not taking any chances on that extortionist Santa. What does he know about naughty and nice? So we'll just have to save the loonies and bucks and do it. I have a feeling Iceland isn't too far off.
