Todd,
Are you getting snow this morn? Here, it is 38* and pouring rain...almost a half inch already.
Due to get at least an inch of rain, which we need, and a high of 48*!
So much for frozen tundra.

Good morning, folks! It looks to be a nice day in Havana. Since it's my day off I didn't get up early and run...so it'll have to wait til tomorrow.

I hope to see some friends today and begin getting ready for Christmas.

Have a good one.

there was no bread, but sometimes it appears later. i will not be too heartbroken as i do not *need* any bread. DD likes to have some bagels though. She devoured a blueberry one a couple weeks ago. Diet starts 1/1/12.

Meh. Who needs a diet. I just need to run a few more miles.

Cinnamon bread came out kinda bleck. Since I don't follow a recipe not a clue what I did wrong. I'm certain it will get eaten though. That's one good thing about having four teen aged sons!

When you are at a "proper" weight, yes, running a few extra miles will do the trick.

When you are overweight, though, as I am, and probably a few other people around here are, exercising isn't nearly as effective as a weight loss tool as calorie restriction is.

Man...the amount I ate when I was thin and running 40 miles per week. Wow.

If I ate that much now...well, let's just say it would be a little unpleasant.

even when i was running 70 miles a week i had to watch what i ate, and had to keep the calories restricted or i would gain weight. I am fighting a battle against crappy fat loving genes!!!

Well, when I was running 70 mpw (are we / were we nuts?) I was the same. I've discovered in my attempt to get well that I need to avoid wheat flour, potatos, high glycemic foods and the "free glutamates"... so no more prepared foods, no to most breads.

I'm sort of a walking Atkins diet without being on a diet. I have discovered the joy of Quinoa.

Not sure what it would do if I ever decide to get above 20 mpw.

Sorry!!! Didn't mean to step on toes!!! FOR ME, breads are something that I enjoy baking and eating. I'm not on a "diet" but I kinda know how many calories I need. Yah, I like ice cream. A lot. But it's not worth is for me to eat it. I've been overweight. It wasn't fun. I weigh myself just about every day. If the numbers start creeping up (ie not freaking out if the numbers are high one day, rather if they are high for several days in a row) then I start cutting back. In my family, when women hit 40yo, they get fat. Uh, sorry. NOT what I want.

Oh don't get me wrong, I love(d) breads, making them, baking them, eating them. Nothing against bread, and I never met a carb I didn't like. They just don't like me!
