Pittsfield is on the 14th Dan's is a whole week later on the 21st, enough time to recover.. maybe be able to walk again.

I may have convinced two people to run the 10K and Britney will do the Kid's 2 K.

BTW Dan and Gro you have to sign up at this site some interesting adventure racers, Check out Wolf's profile (AKA Joe from Pittsfield he completed the Eco Challenge Fuji)

http://www.peak.com/home.php

I have a problem.

I'm interested in trying out the half. But I have a lot on my plate in May and June.

I've registered for the Ottawa marathon and my wife is due to give birth to our second child on June 9. My in-laws will be living with us for the first couple of weeks to help out, so I will be able to run a little in early June.

I really want to try out a trail run like the Val-Morin one, but is it too selfish to do it this year?

drag everybody with you..... regardless of age! sell it as a "family outing" "an activity for the whole family" etc etc...... seriously you wanna try and get your people interested..... you may need some crew one day!

I like the sound of that. Laying down the groundwork for roadtrip duties somewhere down the line...

Even if I can convince everyone this will be fun, I'm probably biting off more than I can chew running-wise.

But what the hell... I'll see if I can sell this baby. I'll let you know if I get some good vibes from the "crew".

I got a green light for Val-Morin. Man, I've got a wife with a heart of gold!

Thanks for the advice, Gro. I'm going to repackage loads of stuff as family activities now!

Anyone else thinking of running in Val-Morin?

Congrats Dan!

You put on a great race. I've run it the past 2 years. I'm glad you sold it out so now I have an excuse for taking a year off though

if it's any consolation...... It's becoming more & more unlikely that I'll get to go back to the VT100 this year...... bought/sold our home..... and the next 6 months are gonna be very busy..... wouldn't be fair on the Mrs... etc etc etc Not really that well trained at the moment anyway..... longest recent run less than 3 hours[won't get me too far]

.... but I'm sure i can squeeze in Val morin......

Hopefully I can get my act together for maybe a half in the fall.

NO Angie does not know how much I've wasted on those entry fees, but she won't mind since it came out of my beer fund.

Df the hip is a little better now that I've stopped running but the pain in the butt and lower back has returned. Doh!!! Some how it's all related and i need to find out which muscle or mix of muscles that are the problem, from the tightness in the loer back near the spine I am thinking the psoas Major is the biggest contributer to my problems, sitting all day shortens it. Bla..Bla.. bla... I can talk, bitch andf complain all day but it aint going to help.

That stinks! I hope you are on the mend soon!

I think I need a break this year. Maybe 2009 we can tackle that beast together again. I don't think I would have made it through that swamp without you last year.
