Are we not sexual beings? Do our children not come from more or less, a version of the sex act?<br><br>
Are they not also headed for much the same future as has wrought humanity on the planet?<br><br>

Why do toddlers need "cutie" plastered on their diaper clad butt? And pre-schoolers wearing belly shirts? I used to like going clothes shopping for my neice--buying pink frilly stuff--but gave up. I wasn't going to buy stuff that made her look like a hooker!

They're these beginner Mother Earth types, wanting to know all the where's and wherefores of origins, where do babies come from and all things nature and natural and I'll show you mine if you show me yours.<br><br>

I used to care about a lot about holding back the tide in regards to cultural pre-maturity and the trappings that make it appear to happen, and it's not that I've changed my mind so much as I've realized, it doesn't make any difference. They go through so many changes by the time they are grown young women, so many of those seemingly important early parenting decisions don't make any difference at all.

Right now being pregnant with my oldest being 5 has opened up SO many more questions for us about the beginnings of life. It was hard to figure out what was appropriate to tell her.<br><br>
She knows her half of the equation. She is very proud to be the mommy to 2 million eggs. She didn't ask about the daddy part so we haven't touched that yet.<br><br>
Breastfeeding all of my kids has helped to down play some of the sexualization of breasts as well. They know they are for food and it doesn't bother them when the 18 month old yells "I want BOOB!".
