Skating is good.. I mean think of all those people who pay lots of money to have fun in a "Winter Wonderland" and YOU have it right there at home ! Woohoo!
 
 
 I understand your pain.. several of teh students in my class have been out for their annual trips to Disney World_ WAH. My kids have never been - we can't afford such a luxury.. but in the end I HAVE to be grateful for all that I do have here. Have fun skating .. we are waiting for the pond out back to freeze solid and are planning a skating party with a big bonfire for my kids and their friends over Christmas.

This is my husband's first try at making a rink, and our yard isn't very level, so it's been interesting

Maybe I will actually learn how to ice skate now that it will be so convenient to practice!
 
Although I am really hoping for a good snow, so I can go snowshoeing in the woods. <img alt="love5.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/love5.gif">

I just told the DW today that I seriously need a vacation.
 
Key West was our last real vacation. In 1995.

I get great vacations but that is a trade off for having no kids. Since Kick runners has become much more civilized since my last visit I will not say how and when unless you guys want to hear about them or see picks.

Some people have no interest in vacations, others just can't go for all sorts of different reasons.
 
I get edgy if I go more than about 6 weeks without a vaca.
 
It's gonna be 6 weeks between skiing in Colorado and going to Vegas, but at least I have Christmas in there to break it up. <img alt="icon_bigsmurf.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/icon_bigsmurf.gif" style="width:15px;height:30px;">

Love it! Venice trip number 6 is next May- two weeks in an apartment. 5 whole months to wait! this time we are doing a daytrip to do wine related stuff, vineyard visit near lake guarda and also a trip to see a stage of the giro de italia in the Mountains! The stage has one section that is 20 degrees steep! this is a photo off the web of the Mountain stage we are going to Monte Zoncolan
