After 34 years in education you still get brand new ones almost every week.

Secretary: "JC you need to take this call"

Parent: "Andrew is home with the flu. He has been puking and has diarrhea. Would it be ok if I brought him to school just for lunch as it's pizza and ice cream lunch day and he'd be disappointed to miss it?"

JC: "You're kidding, right?"

Parent: "No I'm serious."

JC: "Your kid is barfing and pooping uncontrollably and has a communicable illness and you wish to bring him to school just for lunch...am I getting this straight?"

Parent: "Yes, that is correct"

JC: "If you bring Andrew to school today I will call Public Health AND Children's Aid to report you."

Parent: "Well I think that's pretty mean-spirited"

JC: "Have a good day and I hope Andrew is fine to return to school on Monday."

nice finish. You're good at your job as the correct response for the non-school administrative crowd would have been:

"Well, you're a complete f'ing moron, eh?"

I can't believe you wouldn't let her bring the kid in. It was only about an hour I don't think any of the other kids would have been infected in that short of time

OK, why would the kid even want to eat pizza if he was feeling that lousy. Yes the woman is nuts.

I think that was one of MY PARENTS!

"B is sick; but since today is the pancake and pajama party, we thought we'd let her come for the morning during the events.
Then she can come home and rest."

So, tell me again why I have to go back to work after spring break?

Let him eat lunch in your office. Kids love that and then he won't infect any of the kids. Just make sure you keep the garbage can close by.
