<p>I know it's a little early in the season, but would any of the teams out there this year even smell like a Super Bowl Contender in past years?</p>

<p>It is  still early in the season.  I'm not overly concerned.  I think the Saints will still win their Division before the season is over.   And the Falcons seem to be playing quite well.</p>

<p>So, can't say I'm disappointed with the NFL at the moment.</p>

<p>Diehard fans have their teams, but casual fans love to watch football to love or hate certain teams or players.</p>

<p>It's incredibly good to see the Cowboys at 1-3 playing the 1-3 Vikings this week. I can't stand either team.</p>
<p>However, to be honest, it's much better to see the Cowboys lose when they are playing well.\</p>

<p>Baseball always has the New York Yankees to love or hate. The Red Sox (aka Yankees Lite) would also love to be in that position and they might get there after 15 or 20 more World Series wins.</p>

<p>Games are much more interesting when David plays Goliath.</p>

<p>David vs David is actually kinda dull in the long term.</p>

<p>Besides, the NFL has about 11 minutes of action in 3 hours...it's hard to stay awake through close to an hour of commercials.</p>

<p>  Every team can be beat because they have been beat. Nobody is looking....wow!  Then there are those 0-5 teams. Raiders beating Chargers? Saints losing how many? Cheifs ...3-1? Cowboys...1-3?</p>

Nine times out of ten, when David plays Goliath he's going to wind up road kill - even when he's the home team. Sure, that tenth game is going to be very interesting, but I'm not sure it would make up for the dullness of the rest of the games.</p>

<p>Dynasties are great as long as your team is the one enjoying the dynasty. For the rest of us it kind of sucks knowing that our team doesn't have a chance (once again) of being champion. I, for instance, won't watch any post-season games the Yankees are involved in because they've been there so often they think they're entitled ("I know we'll have to win the World Series ourselves - which we will, but they should just give us our permanent position in the playoffs and forget about the rest of the league or the rest of the season.")</p>

You are probably in the majority, but I am the exact opposite.Back to baseball in an NFL thread... I live in Toronto and am a Blue Jays fan. They play the Yankees, Red Sox and Rays FIFTY-FOUR times per season. That makes it really really tough to have a chance at the playoffs....for all 4 of those teams...ask the Red Sox.</p>

<p>However, I much prefer seeing them play those teams 54 times rather than watching them play Kansas City, Cleveland and Seattle 54 times. Now that would suck even though their chances for a playoff berth would increase a hundredfold.</p>

<p>Can you see the folks in Fenway screaming "Royals Suck"? No way...they wanna play the Yankees too.<br>

<p>But then again I seldom watch the baseball playoffs anyway. I'm baseballed out by Oct 1...time for football and hockey. </p>
