Damn.

Why the hell would people go on this show? Is money really worth that much to them?

People go on the Jerry Springer show for free. At least here they stand to make a buck of of the train wreck.

On a purely scientific note, I wonder about the scientific validity of the supposed "correct" answers on that show. It seems that the questions are worded vaguely enough that the contestant may not actually know if they're telling the truth - which takes any credibility that the lie detector test may have and flushes it down the toilet.

If last night is an indication... it's like a Springer Version of "This Is Your Life"

They bring you and your family (last night it was his mother, wife, SIL, and BIL) on stage, and ask you potentially relationship-ending questions about your past, all while hooked up to some form of lie-detector. The more you answer truthfully, the more money you win.

Some of last nights questions (and his answers):

"Have you ever made a wax replica of your privates?" (Yes)
"Is your wife the most attractive woman you've ever dated?" (No)
"Have you ever had s*xual relations with one of your wife's sisters?" (No)
"Have you ever slept with one of your friend's wives?" (Yes)

I admit it... I'd probably watch it again

Am I the only one who thinks it's all a set-up? You know, not-so-reality reality?

I can't believe there are REAL people willing to go through that for money. And I think it's been shown that Jerry Springer was all a set up too, wasn't it?
