Yikes!
We are well into March and I forgot to start the swim thread! Probably because I didn't go to the pool since my last workout.
I don't have a workout to post yet but I started the thread in case others do.
Let me know if you want to continue the swim thread. Myself, I am swimming way less, generally once a week, as the running picks up.
Happy splashing!
Me too! Haven't been swimming because, with Orapin in New Zealand, I am too depressed. :^)

Heading for China again soon. So on my return I'll get wet again. And yes, I think a monthly swim is a good thing. So Thanks.

Thinking about joining the local pool this weekend for the half year which started 3/1
If I join maybe I will go at least once a week. So keep the thread going.

Looks like Coach has pulled the swim training off the calendar while I go into the Eugene prep crunch. Will continue to watch the thread with interest, though.

Well, I have a tri coming up in 4 short weeks with a 750y swim in it, so....

I get into the pool for the 1st time in 2 weeks. 250y of warm-up. Then decided to try a 500 to see if I have the endurance.

Well, I got through the 500y in about 12 minutes. But I have 25% of the swimming endurance I had 10 months ago. I had to stop and breathe at the end of the laps.

Once upon a time, I swam a mile!

Please keep the thread going. If you don't want to, let me know and I'll take over.

I swam Wednesday and Thursday this week, 2000 Yds each night. Lastnight was a good swim for me: 40 laps in 46:28. The immediate goal is 40 in 40.

First Tri coming up in May. Gotta get a bike...

I am very glad to see that the interest is still there for the swim thread. I know I get a lot out of it. The reason I put out the question is that with spring around the corner many of us cut down our x-training activities and focus on running. I still want to swim at least one day a week myself, but some of us stop altogether.
Tnally, it's not a problem for me to keep the thread going; as you can see I don't do any fancy tallies, poems and pictures. I want to keep it simple, just as it is now, a place for swimmers to hang out and discuss anything swimming. We'll keep going... Good luck with your bike hunting.
Econo, don't be too hard on yourself, remember you just came home from a tough race and you've been training hard. Cut yourself some slack sometimes, fren .
OK, here is the final February total:

42610 yards/meters

A little less then the January totals (53250), but we still rock! Especially tnally, who put in a lot of distance the past month, and cranking up for his first tri!

2100 yds last night in 48:01. The first 10 laps were not very smooth but then things settled in for a nice swim. I'm looking forward to getting into open water if and when it ever warms up here in the frozen north.

Wait! I had a nice swim lesson yesterday; 30 min in the pool. Lowered my golf score to 86. (56 + 15 + 15)

It seems that because my stroke count is so low (and still breathing bilaterally), I just wasn't breathing very often and felt horribly out of breath. Coach Gina said to try another golf score, this time breathing on one side, and that's when I lowered my time by one second, plus kept the stroke count the same.

I'm gonna do a 500y time trial again soon this week. The tri I signed up for keeps sending me emails to the effect of "if you need to revise your predicted pace, let us know by Friday!" (Maybe they can't believe someone "swims" a 500y in 12 minutes.)

Unfortunately, all the little indoor tris around here have relatively long swim portions (750y).

Nice golf score!!!! How the heck can you do a length in 15 strokes? I'm impressed. My best 89. You rock.

If they can't believe that someone need 12 minutes for 10 laps, have them call me. Thats what I was doing tonight for the first 20 laps, then it went to almost 13 minutes.

2000 yds in 50 minutes. Tired arms tonight. Just couldn't seem to get them around very quickly.

Only 800m yesterday, sammiched between dropping off DD1 and my blood donation appointment. Just to confirm that I can still move forward (as opposed to downwards...) in the water. Phew, I still can...
