Every day the news shows crap and it's non-stop. Economic woes; uncertainty about the future; the shitheads in washington that couldn't govern their way out of a paperbag -

Personally - being in sales; it's not been a good year - There are layoffs coming; already have had salary reductions doled out; we are missing our quota by a BIG amount - all due to the economy and the fact the weather this year has been fantastic for living - but sucky for air conditioning or heating...

My family has lost two members in less than a week; I've got a sibling who is hell bent on just being mad at the world and unfortunately his family gets the brunt of it.

BUT... in spite of all that,

I'm thankful to be close in proximity to my kids - and that 3 years after the divorce, they are still very much a part of my life - they support me and encourage me. They are healthy and doing well.

I'm thankful that in spite of some rough spots - I have some very close friends (albeit not close in proximity) that seem to be there when it's most important. They understand me and though they get pissed at me; they seem to accept me as who I am and are there.

I'm thankful that I'm healthy and at almost 53, the only medicine I take is an ibuprofin or aspirin on occasion - No blood pressure issues - in spite of an unbelievably high stress job.

I'm thankful that even though sales aren't what they could be; I'm gainfully employed and enjoy a nice standard of living.

And, I'm thankful for you.

anyone else care to contribute?

I'm thankful for a fun career that provides me all the things we need to live a good life. Also, that I have two of the best bosses in the world. So, for Jared and Tonya I'm thankful. They're great teachers and have outstanding amounts of patience. I have the best employees anyone could ask to have. I'm very fortunate.

And spell-check. Always for spell-check.

I'm especially thankful for people like Rollingrock who always answers my email. And listens to me whine. And has for years. She is the type of woman I've always wanted to be.
