If nothing else, the universe is gonna wink out of existence in 500 gazillion year. I know some folks that believe Christ is coming back during their lifetime. Others are certain we’re gonna wipe ourselves out via global war. I figure if we survive the next 100 years we'll be pretty good from a global war perspective. Then we just need to sort out the carrying capacity issue. Who knows if we'll make it 100 years. For my kids sake I certainly hope so.

I said 10,000. I figure modern humans have been around for, what, 250,000 years? We've dominated the planet for quite a while, and have become as efficient at procreation/multiplication as just about any other multicellular organism. There's only one way for us to go (devolution/extinction) and those kinds of collapses move pretty quickly I think.
