It is one step closer. The person who offices on my right is going home sick right now with the flu. In a row of five offices, I am the only one untouched. Dear God, don't let me get the flu!<br><br>
Have you gotten the flu this year? Have you had people with the flu at your offices? How tolerant are you when they come waving their germs all around you?

it made the rounds in just about every aspect here. My kids; bunches of kids at their school. My students -- one or two are getting it a second time...or at least getting sick.<br>
I started to get symptoms, but took some oscillococcinm, loads of fluids, lots of ginger tea and sweated it out overnight. Didn't even miss work.

Exactly.... but I was thinking "The Stand" by Steven King!<br><br>
Pump that vitamin C ... and keep washing those hands... WHATEVER you do... Use your own PEN always. ( These are the rules for surviving while working with first graders too! <img alt="wink.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/wink.gif">)

I teach in a peagreen sea of flu germs. *gak*<br><br>
Close to 450 staff and kids in my building.<br>
The flu has been so horrid, that kids and adults are missing full weeks of school....and when they come back, they still look & sound wasted.<br><br><br>
Good luck, lelly!<br><b>~stay sanitized~<br>

I don't think any of us at the lab got the flu although we have had a few bad colds, I had bronchitis and someone else had gasteroenteritis. One of my fellow lab rats went home today after the microlab next door cultured strep from her throat. I ran away from her with a mask on, yelling "No offense, but I catch strep very easy"<br>
Our lab has tested about 3000 flu samples received from all over our tiny state and I am currently sorting through tha samples that actually have flu and the ones that are negative. We were pretty lucky that none of us got sick, but we handle all specimens under hoods and wear lots of PPE and wash our hands ALOT!

My parents, my husband, my mother-in-law, my co-workers. Magically, I haven't been sick at all.<br><br>
My mother had it so bad, she had to go to the hospital for an IV. Then, the flu turned into a sinus infection and ear infection. She has since lost hearing in one ear, and the audiologist she saw said it is probably permanent.

Do you know what's fabulous?<br><br>
Holding a second-grader's hand and then seeing them dig around in their nose skillfully a few minutes later.<br><br>
I'm sure this is how I've gotten sick so often this year.

Well I am on Day 7 of the flu which has also progressed into pnuemonia and a sinus infection. Haven't left the house since my 10 miler last Saturday when the fever began and I thought I was getting hyperthermia. Not a happy camper right now.

TinyE and I had it a few weeks ago. I ended up in the hospital for IV fluids. My fever never dropped below 102 for 6 days and was as high as 104. TinyE's fever didn't go below 102 either, but his never was as high as mine. Thankfully!! It was horrible. I have NEVER in my life felt so bad. I had to miss being the Matron of Honor in my niece's wedding. <img alt="sad.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad.gif"> We're both still coughing...<br><br>
It's been what...4 weeks?<br><br>
I hope and pray you don't get it! I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Knock on wood, none of us has gotten it this year.<br><br>
I did get bronchitis when I flew out to AZ in early December. Round one of antibiotics pretty much knocked it out, then a week later I got a sinus infection. Round two of antibiotics finally knocked it out.

No, I haven't gotten it. I thought I was getting sick a few weeks ago, even took a couple of half days at work, but it amounted to nothing...just exhaustion I guess (although I did have a sore throat.)<br><br>
I am no longer working at a hospital, so I think that's helped me this year, because I ALWAYS came down with something in the 6 years I worked for the VA. Usually a stomach thing but always something.<br><br>
I also wonder if I'm so busy right now I've just willed the germs away. People are sick at work and really really sick among our cast.<br><br>
I CAN'T GET SICK!!! STAY AWAY FROM ME, YOU SICKIES!!!!<br><br><img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif">

Yep - I got it, knocked me flat on my ass and like Colby, 4 weeks later I'm still coughing; my chest is still thick and sticky. DH says it's pretty much a 6 week infection.<br><br>
If you start getting the symptoms at all talk to your doc about Tamiflu.
