Hmmm, looks like a bunch of overAchievers to me .... any ideas on a team name? I'm really looking forward to this round. Let's kick some bootay!!!!

Please check here for some info on new features of this round.

About me ... it's my second VRAA. I'm running a 1/2 marathon March 16, then who knows after that. So, sadly I've just started taper for that, but will still get in a bunch of running miles along with other cardio. And, of course, alternate workouts (Hi Alan!!!!) I love yoga.

Now you go!

Since I'm the only captain of the team, would one of you like to volunteer to be co-captain? Basically, you fulfill my duties should I be rendered unable to. You know, should a fierce wind blow me into Buzzards Bay during my 1/2 ....

hi everybody! (can we be team Asskickers, or do we need a PG name?)

This will be my second VRAA, I'm moving up to Badass this time around as the start of this round corresponds with the beginning of my Oly training program (and weeks 6 - 9 of my running plan). I'm starting off with a bang - I've got a 5 miler race on the calendar for Sunday.

Hey everyone, this is my second VRAA as well. I took a much needed bread from running (mostly due to being sick for about a month with a cold that just wouldn't leave) and just started that up again this week but I have been dilegently doing all sorts of cross training in between and with that and running should be able to rack up some decent pointage this round.

I stink at names. Sorry.

Hi fellow A-Teamers!

this is my second VRAA - last time I was on Team S, who came second, beaten by Team J (who obviously cheated ). However, I was accused of sandbagging so signed up as Titanium this time to avoid that. Assuming I don't get injured I will do the miles! And unlike some (Hi Jen!!! ) I will not be claiming any alternate workout points for basket weaving.....

Currently training for the Edinburgh Marathon at the end of May, and this VRAA coincides nicely with a solid phase of planned miles.

and I'm happy to do the co-captain thing if you're still looking for a volunteer.

Hello All,

This will be my 1st VRAA over here. (Actually the 4th, the first three were over in that other running site years and years ago.) VRAAs usually get me really motivated and while my mileage may be on the low side these days I'm hoping the VRAA will force me to be more consistent and get my butt out there on the cold, rainy, icky days....or at least get on the exercise bike instead. I'm psyched to be able to use it for points.

I kind of like "Asskickers" as a name, although "The A Team" has it's own charm (for those old enough to remember the show)

Cheated, huh? I dropped 4% body fat from 12/11-2/5, so I'm pretty sure it didn't come from sitting on my ass. Former Team J member here and before that, Team H, also VRAA champions. So this is my third and I'm used to winning--and putting in the work to get there. I've been fortunate enough to have some spectacular teammates for the past rounds--I'm sure this round will be no exception--even you Alan.

Signed up for Super to also waylay any sandbagging accusations. My next half is March 22 followed by a 5K the following weekend. I should have some good miles plus cross training to put in.

I hope the rest of our team pops in to say hello soon! It's going to be a lot of fun. Everyone on the team is important, from the Titanium to the Badass in Training. I found the VRAA to motivate me to do something every day, and didn't miss a day the last round. Even on rest days, you can do yoga, go for a walk, etc. It's easy to earn points every day!

Yo.
Roo reporting for duty or doody or something. I'm logging between 15 and 20 miles running and Hank Aaron the dog helps out with long walks (pull the girl pull the girl pull the girl) for cross training. Oh yeah. he helps with yoga and pilates, too. Do I get extra points for trying to do downward facing dog with a 70 some pound dog sniffing my ear and trying to walk under me?

Hi Roo, nice to meet you!

Don't forget everyone, let's think of a team name. I need to report it to Billy by Tuesday. It does NOT have to start with an A, but we have two ideas (I think?): A-Team (It wasn't intentionally a "name" just what I titled the thread) & Asskickers. We get extra points for a team name, and it could be anything, but I want everyone to be happy with whatever it is.

I just want to say that I've had the damn A-Team theme song in my head all day.

(and my dog likes to lick me when I am anywhere near the floor... nothing like sweat + dog slobber)

Hey everyone, Kirk here checking in. I would have stopped by earlier but my work is cracking down on non-work related sites. This is my first VRAA, and I'm looking forward to it. I normally log 25~30 miles a week. I'll be running a half next weekend (Shamrock in Va. Beach--Jen and Rocket, what half are you doing ?) so next week is a mini-taper. Should be able to supplement the miles with weights and core work though. I like the Asskickers name, but I too have that damned A-Team song in my head. Maybe this will help....
