With tomorrow a Holiday - I thought I'd post this today:

I am thankful for a lot of things.

1. My family - my kids all are healthy and doing well. They each make me very proud as adults - and each have become friends to me.

2. My health - what can I say with this - of course, I have a few more aches than I used to - but other than an occasional advil - at 52, I am fortunate to be in great health

3. My 'lot in life' - I've got a great job for a great company; I live in a beautiful part of the country and am getting settled into a relaxing lifestyle.

4. My friends - I have very few close friends but there are several here (and those who no longer post here) that I consider friends.

5. Lastly - this site and all that it represents. I know things have changed a great deal and we don't have the same 'volume' of posters that we once had - it looks different; it feels different; and the tone is different - (some would say it's worse; others would say it's better), but at the end of the day, the site is just a virtual representation of each one of you! You are and we are kickrunners. And for that - I'm truly thankful.

What about you?

3. My 'lot in life' - happy with it all, job, home, etc..

4. My friends - I have a few close friends and we stick together thru thick and thin

Ditto.

I feel like I won the family lottery- parents, siblings, spouse, children. I am truly blessed to have such a fantastic family.

I am thankful that we are doing well enough financially that I can work part time without stress. And I feel like my job is not just a job, but a calling.

I wouldn't change a thing.

There are so many things I'm thankful for ... the health of my family & friends, relative financial security, peace in my home .... a wonderful husband who I've spent 18 years with, a son who is awesome at 15! An incredible family - I definitely hit the in-law lottery and (now) have a great relationship with my own family. And some truly wonderful friends who genuinely care for me, don't judge me, and who celebrate our differences.

21 years ago I spent Thanksgiving with my dad. It was my last dinner with him before he went into the hospital for a big round of chemo. Two weeks later he was gone. Every year since during Thanksgiving dinner, I have fondly remembered that last meal with him .... that night it was about being together, not about his illness. Every moment we have with our loved ones is a gift - I hope you all enjoyed the blessings of today with yours.
