Welcome to Atlanta. Where in Georgia is your final destination? If you are going to be traveling around Atlanta this weekend be aware that I285 and the interstates downtown can be quite congested Saturday/Sunday afternoons.

Saturday you will see lots of runners going up and down Peachtree including my running group doing 12 miles between 6:30 and 8:30 tomorrow. Georgia Tech and Georgia State both have home football games downtown (GT is actually on the border of Midtown/Downtown). The University of Georgia fans will be going up I75 towards Knoxville for their game with Tennessee.

Sunday, the Falcons are playing the Green Bay Packers at the Georgia Dome.

Also, this is Gay Pride weekend in Atlanta so you will see lots of Gay Pride flags flying in Piedmont Park and restaurants througout Atlanta trying to get visitors to the city into their business. The Pride parade will be Sunday with an estimated 100,000 people lining the parade route in Midtown Atlanta so traffic will be tied up for several hours in Midtown.

So, drive carefully.
