TGIF indeed...all the more so for me, because next week I'm on vacation!!

Today's a recovery day for me, situated as it is between last night's hill repeat session and tomorrow's 18-miler. I'll probably go about 6, either at work this afternoon, on the battlefield trail after work, or possibly on the trail near home ending at the field where my wife will be playing soccer.

If I end up doing trails, I'll get to try out my new trail shoes...Asics Gel Trail Attacks; they certainly look bad-assed -- black and neon with a very aggressive tread design. Hopefully these will finally be the trail shoes that work for me. So far I've gone through the Brooks Cascadias (that are supposedly the best), Under Armour Chimeras, and even a shoe from Asolo, an Italian company and all have let me down in one aspect or another.

BTW a little more on last night's workout. As I mentioned last night it's 0.45 miles from bottom to top. Total elevation change is about 100 ft. Incline varies -- near the bottom it's only 1-2% but then it jumps to about 4%, then all the way to 11% before leveling out for a flat finish the last 0.1. I made 6 repeats after only doing 4 on the same hill a month ago. Next month I'll try for 8 and then maybe 10 in October. I ran the repeats at more or less marathon pace which makes it easier to do a high number of them. Had I been trying for 10k pace or faster I'd have been done for sure after 4 repeats.

FB - good job on the duckless run

Jill - nice run, I'm gonna have to start calling you the "ironwoman" soon.

Dan/4bm/kevin - have a good rest day

zrun - excellent to see that progress. I went to grad school at IU and remember what a big deal HS football was there.

loopy - E-A-G-L...oh never mind, you're probably sick of hearing that by now. Nice run.

Alex - I'd pull up Live Nation and try to figure out what concert you are attending but I'm too lazy. Have fun and what zrun said about the cell phone.

RA - ugh, that sucks man. Hope it clears up. Bagging the 10k sounds like the right idea though.
