just chatting here, too, officer! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Smile"><br><br>
I'm running a 5K tomorrow in Yachats ("Yaw-hots"<img alt="wink.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/wink.gif"> Oregon with my son and his pal. (John & Tammerina, Talent is too farrrrrrr!)<br><br>
My goal is to beat John's time. But he is getting scary fast. And with his recent weight loss, I'm doooooomed.<br><br>
bye kids!

Yachats isn't much bigger than Talent - but the views are far better! I envy that you are such a quick straight shot over to the coast from Eugene. lots of cute little towns on that part of the Oregon Coast. This is heating up to be a fun friendly competitive weekend - Econo aiming to beat John, me aiming to beat Karl . . .<br><br>
I brought two yummy peaches for my lunch today and nothing more disappointing then cutting into a peach that looks good, smells good, only to find half of it pithy. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/sad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Sad"><br><br>
so, after my run tomorrow a.m., I have to boogie back to GP and watch my son's first soccer game. I'll probably miss the first 15 min or so.<br><br>
Then I will be canning tomato sauce in the afternoon. I cooked it all down the other night, so now I just need to can it. And then I'm going to start pulling out some of the plants that are done in my garden. I still have tomatos, beets, carrots and rhutabaga's, but everything else is about done, so time to clean up.

Hi Road Hawk!<br><br>
I was thinking of adding a chatting thread for today too!<br><br>
Painting does not sound fun. . . Good Luck on your 13 miler!<br><br>
I have no big plans . . . no running for me tomorrow. I'll be recovering from my daughter's b-day party/sleepover and just a couple of soccer games this weekend.<br><br>
Have a good weekend all! Go Tamster!

These days she's pacing about 7:30 in long runs and I am at about 10. But we still run taces together. Just now she comes back to find me

Good luck in the 5K, Econo! (Tammy and Johnny, same to you in your 10K).

The painting is fun because it is the last step. But you are right generally I hate it.<br><br>
Hey tamster my garden is in about the same shape as yours.<br><br>
This year I had a huge abundance of cukes. So I decided to do fermented dills. They been going for about four weeks and are getting nice and sharp.<br><br>
I think I am going to do the same with the inevitable green tomatoes. I really really love pickled green tomatoes.<br><br>
All you Oregonians have a great race.

I got just enough cukes to eat but not an abundance all at once. I planted lemon cucumbers and those are small enough to just have one or two for snacking on. I think next year though, I'll go back to straight 8's. and I won't plant climbing beans again. I got HUGE trellises full of bean plants but not enough beans off them to make it worth it. About 80% of the beans I canned (I canned 40 jars) came off my bush beans. As much as I love having my own garden, I'm SO glad when it's over because it's really a lot of work. Soon the apples will be ripened though and then it's making and canning applesauce season!

Pink! No running this weekend? When and how far is long again? Cut back week here. I may run 10 to 15 after my tri. Way after my tri.<br><br>
Racing - I have a toddler tri on Sunday. 1/4M swim / 12.5M bike / 5k run.<br><br>
My bike is running so sweet. It's so quiet I scare people. I have no excuses (except my total bike mileage over the last month or two is nearly nil).<br><br>
Econo, Remember the 5k strategy. Go out fast for the first mile, push the last mile hard, and oh yeah, don't slow down in the middle. Sub 8's girl.<br><br>

Road Hawk:<br><br>
Recovery running is going well. I'm going to try double long-runs this weekend as training for the 50k I'm in on 10/28. There is also a great 10k or 20k trail run at Rock Bridge St. Park on 10/21. Entry is only $20.00 <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/headbang.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="headbang">

i'm distressed by hearing that race reports will be <i>moved</i> to the appropriate area...<br><br>
I'm <b>never</b> going to post a race report on kick.<br><br>
I've posted on several forums for 5+ years now and this seems so quaint, fast and accessable. The controlling factor is a bit disconcerting.<br><br>
Kick some butt, Econo/Renee! Um, I mean, perfessor...

that's how I felt Dale - I prefer to keep whatever topics we choose to post on our Masters forum - whether it be race reports, daily runs, chit chat, etc. I understand Rich's desire to have race reports posted in the RR forum because several other posters here could gain some insight and knowledge by reading the race reports, but when it comes to daily runs? I can't imagine anyone else really caring that I got in an 8 mile run or you did a 10 mile or someone else did 5 miles. At least no one caring but the group we usually post with - the other boomers/masters. But I'm trying to not to make a big deal out of it. I think Kick wants this forum to be open to everyone and not form little groups or cliques, which I guess in essence is what we've done for years at Boomers at CR - pretty much stick to our own group. Although there are a few that use the Report forum at CR.

dtoce, that was my initial reaction too. But I looked around the Finish Line forum and the 30s club and I think what they're trying to accomplish with the different forums (fora <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Cool">) makes sense.<br><br>
CR B&B is such a great community and "one-stop shop". It would be a shame to lose that when the Active assimilation is complete. I think it can be preserved on this site, with sticky threads as needed containing links to threads outside the Masters' Club. It may even turn out to be an improvement.<br><br>
ETA: Tammy, go kick some serious Opie butt tomorrow! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Smile">
