Morning all. 10 moh this morning at a flat 8 mpm pace. May run a few more tonight if I can get dw to go with me.

What's on tap today? Work some more on my backyard shed (getting close to finishing), maybe some yard edging, and definitely some college basketball. Go Rock Chalk Jayhawks!!

Morning, KS!

I'll have to wait for the lawn to thaw out a lot more before I start edging or clearing the beds.

Got a pleasant surprise when I got home last night.....there was a woodcock on my lawn! Guess it had been exploring the network of mole runs that have cropped up for worms. Very cool and unusual to see it!

Wasn't going to run this morning to give the foot a bit more rest, but it was already 10°C when I got to the gym for a spin at 6:30, so I just couldn't resist getting a couple of miles in. 2.4 easy miles in capris and SS shirt, admiring the nice pink sunrise! Followed up with 30 minutes spin and a nice stretch. Time go get working!

Have a terrific day everyone!

Good luck to Dove, Paul and Peter in their races this weekend!

Nice runs ks and Heme.

tw, I liked reading about your pain-free run yesterday. May you enjoy many more. Have fun with the little one this w/e.

Mid 40's today but very windy and cloudy. After a 2 mile warmup I picked it up for an "easy" tempo pace for 5 miles and I seemed to have it locked in:

8:01, 8:02, 8:01, 8:08 (traffic light), 7:56.

So I have that going for me. We leave tomorrow morning for NYC. There's a dinner reservation with DD tomorrow night too, which is nice.

Go BU Terriers! (My alma mater - I have a better chance at winning the NYC Half this w/e.)

Good afternoon all. KR seems a bit wonky this afternoon - took me a long time to navigate int this thread. I'll be brief in case this reply goes boom when I post it.

5.5 mile recovery jog today. I helped a mom whose child's bike had thrown its chain, so I had to do a fartlek or two in order to catch up with my running partner; then we did a couple of striders at her strider rate, since she was complaining of stiffness.

It is beautiful in Albany today. 60F and sunny for the 2nd day in a row.

Heme, I know what you mean about not being able to pass up the nice weather!

Nice run there, Rip. You too, ks, and Mike. Way to be the good samaritan there, BTY!

As for this weekend's runners, good luck to all of you but special wishes for fleet feet to Dove! What a glutton for punishment... oh well, it makes her happy so I'll just say You Go Girl! 24 hour run... wow.

Like Heme, I took advantage of a what the day gave me. I don't usually run much on Fridays, but took advantage of the day off, the brilliant sunshine and temps almost up to 30 to get my Saturday run in. Ended up with 11 miles with plenty of tempo pace and effort (the effort comes in where the terrain is a bit hilly for holding true tempo pace, but I sure worked at it).

7:56

7:47

7:53

7:56

8:06

8:31 (ok, this would've been faster, but stopped to talk to a couple who'd pulled over to warn me about moose ahead on the road and didn't stop my Garmin, oops)

7:45

8:15 (these last two miles are the uphill miles back to home)

I'm pretty happy with this especially considering the hills and the ice out there. A few more days like today though, and I'm hoping that ice is on it's way out! And with the deep snow getting compressed a bit, the moose are hanging around on the roads so something else to watch out for.

So... tomorrow I'll run an easy 5 or so which is what I'd normally do if I ran on a Friday...
