Hi KS!

Hi Roly....... cute avatar!

Good luck, FO.... for both the 10K and the MRI.

Checked out another section of forest trail today for an easy 4 miles. Don't think I'll keep it on my destinations list.... wide straight, mostly flat double track that was totally chopped up by horses hooves. What little single track I could find was covered with horse poop. Good thing I have plenty of other much better options.

Havea greta weekend everyone!

Soon I will feel a ripple in the Force when ksr and mrsksr enter New England. ks, is Julie running too?

I had one of those magically easy runs today. 12 miles, 8:21 pace. 36F to start! This was the first run of the season with l/s and gloves. Anyway, I'm well aware that at this point in my taper I'm prone to going out too fast, so I was very conscious about maintaining a slow and easy pace. And yet the splits kept going down no matter how easy I coasted. A nice confidence booster. Greater Hartford Marathon, site of my 3:33:39 PR (3 or 4 yrs old now) is next Saturday.

Thanks Mike; I'll do that!

Beautiful run for you today. Are you not just dying of nerves before your race next weekend??

Is it just me that does that? As usual, all those "tendonitis" pains and twinges pretty much evaporated after the HM; so they weren't "real" after all. In the two weeks prior, I swear I had the screaming meemies. I'd be wired for hours and then totally drained for the next few.

Best of luck Rip and FO! Run FAST!

FO, if you can race, why are you getting an MRI? Was your X-ray normal?

Hi all

Thanks everybody for the good luck.

Hope you have a great pre-MRI race FO

My run was just the opposite of Mike's. I was deciding whether to even do a run since I knew it was going to be easy anyway, but I felt pretty

good and the weather is fantastic so I stopped at the park on the way home. From the first step, my breathing was labored, my knee hurt, and my lower back hurt.

Nothing loosened up much so I stopped at a little over 41 minutes. I'll call it 5 miles. That half marathon mudfest really beat me up as it was probably equal to 17 or 18 miles.

After the race sunday, I'll take a real easy week maybe not running at all to get rid of all the aches and pains.

Off to Chicago in the morning.
