Decent run this morning. I felt much better for today's 10 miler than I did for Wednesday's 10 miler. I ran an 8:48 pace today as compared to 9:13 on Wednesday.

Have a good friday everyone.

nice job on the 10 miler FB!

10 miles here too -- on the mountain roads. I have been doing most of my runs on the canal path recently, so felt good to get back on the mountain.

FB -- Great job! Is it me, or are you getting consistently faster?

loopy -- Envious you've the ability - and desire - for so much work in the hills.

Jill -- Smart recovery.

Me -- Full day of work, followed by the first leg of my first tri. We do 750M in the pool tonight, then 12.5 and 3.1 on the bike and run tomorrow a.m. I'm excited and scared. Our swim is scheduled by our self-reported estimated time. I put down 14-15 minutes -- and I'm sure I'll be gassed. There's a local guy who's a world-class triathlete who estimated 7:30. He's twice as fast. Wow.

FB and loopy--nice pair of 10's

Jill--nice recovery run.

chances--your estimate sounds about right. I suck at swimming and my time for a 500 is about 12:00.

Yet another super busy morning. As I was leaving for a meeting last evening, son3 informed me that he had a 5 paragraph essay due today. When I got home, nothing had been done. So, up early to work on that, then drove him to school. On my way home, I had to pick up hubby who had dropped the car off at the shop. Now, to "start" my day... Had planned on an easy trot this afternoon, but I have to drop sons 1 and 4 at church for a weekend retreat, then hubby off at the shop to pickup the car. I am sooooooooooo looking forward to Sunday when all I have to worry about is doing the left-right-left thing for 26.2!

I decided to take a rest day given that I want to decrease the suckage potential of Sunday's 10k.

4boysmom - never a dull day with you! So, 3:30 for the marathon on Sunday... we're all counting on you.

Chances - have fun. Remember, when it gets tough, just tri harder. Never heard that one before...

Jill - that was a serious double yesterday. Next one needs to be more light hearted. Enjoy the recovery.

Loopy / Mountain Goat - nice job on the 10

FB - you're really killing those miles. Great job.

Morning all - haven’t been checking in to avoid driving myself crazy with all this running talk... I made it a week without running (well, pretty much)… got in 4 hot yoga classes, 2 strength workouts and one PT session. I did run a few minutes on the TM at PT yesterday, and to be honest the piriformis stuff didn't really feel any better than last week. Little disappointing since the driving/sitting stuff seemed to be slowly fading but I guess it takes time. It definitely shows that I'm a runner in any of the yoga poses requiring hamstring stretching, but I am seeing some gains there.

FB - way to go with the sub-9 10

Loopy - nice 10 and nice job on the 5k last week

Jill - keep up those monster miles!

Good morning everyone. Nice job on all the running and such. I got in another 5 miles in 43:35(8:43). I am going to try and get a core work out done this morning. I hope it happens. Have a great morning everyone.

Morning all,

Busy group already this morning. I've got an easy run planned for today, 7 or so, after a Yasso 800s workout last night. This weekend I'll do about 15 on either Saturday or Sunday -- that will be my last run of any significant distance until NYC.

kevin - nice job on the morning 5

zrun - hope you can get that piriformis thing resolved. To be honest I've had that for years, never seems to really go away, just fades from time to time then comes back. If you figure out a way to make it disappear forever, let me know. I'd love to have to that secret recipe.

RA - rest up and hopefully you can nail that 10k

4bm - hope you can stay off your feet at least a little before Sunday

Chances - if it makes you feel better your swim pace is probably twice as fast as mine> OK maybe I exaggerate a little. But not much.

Jill - you certainly have earned a recovery day

loopy & FB - well done on the pair of 10s.

****WARNING--TAPER CRAZY***** Finally got out for my last pre-marathon trot. Ug... NOTHING felt good. Just plodding and ended up with a nasty stitch. This ain't happening... What the heck am I going to do on Sunday?!?!?!?!?! Oh well, just finish it out. Ended up with 2m @ 8:42. I know I neg split it, so not a clue how fast I finished it but certainly faster than MP.

Funny thing as I was coming down the street. I saw sons2&3 with their buddies. Over sized hoodies, droopy drawers with boxers showing. Yah, that whole thing. They didn't see me and son3 whipped an empty soda can into the street. Not cool, so "projecting" my voice, I told him to pick it up! Dude... so busted! Well, don't be stupid!
