Have you ever heard of Team Continuum?

A few months back, I posted about them. They are a group that provides immediate and vital, non-medical, assistance to cancer patients and their families where the diagnosis results in disruption, hardship and uncertainty in their everyday lives.

In order to raise funds and maximize the number of patients Team Continuum helps; they offer charity spots in various athletic races. Each year a number of athletes run the ING NYC Marathon for Team Continuum, spots are available now for the 2011 race, check out their site, if you are still interested in becoming involed:

If you want to get more info also on others who are contributing, check out Pixels of Promise.

The Pixels of Promise site really gives insight into, the athletes who participates in TC events and those who are directly affected by Team Continuum’s efforts.

One such athlete/patient is Don Wright, who lives in the greater Minneapolis area. Don is planning to run marathons in all 50 states. He is running despite the fact that he has had cancer for more than eight years. And despite the fact that he is 70 years old.

Once again, here is the Pixels of Promise site: http://www.pixelsofpromise.org
