I like it - Team X-Cellent!!

There are so many possibilities with Team X, though, aren't there? For some reason, Team X-rated jumped into my head.

Hi Team X - a brief introduction (I copied it from the last VRAA team intro thread so some of you have already seen it):

My name is Trevor and I usually hang out in the 30s thread.

I live in central Connecticut now, but grew up in central New York and attended college in Rochester, NY and Washington, DC. Married with two girls 6 and 4. I’m an attorney for the finance division of The Hartford – you know, the insurance company with stag logo?

I started running in Jr. High and continued all the way through HS. Had some track scholarship offers, but turned them all down to focus on academics – I ended up majoring in beer instead.

I picked up running again, after many failed attempts, in April 2005. Ran a half later that year, then moved up to the marathon distance in 2006. BQed in 2007 and now I’m training for the Philly Marathon in November, but will race a few halfs (Adirondack and Hartford) along the way. I just recently started my specific training plan for Philadelphia.

I'm looking forward to running with all of you.

Trevor

tigger is here! I am a mid 50's (age, not average miles!) runner living and working in the coastal mountains of BC. I started running late in life (47) and am still pursuing PR's as I continue to push the mileage higher and higher. My greatest pride is my daughter, who runs XC and track, and will try out for the Guelph XC team this fall. They are the double Canadian university champs, trying to 3 peat this year.

No big races on the horizon, but planning to run a 5k late this month. I have applied to run the Tokyo marathon in Feb, but will not find out until October if I was accepted.

Time to get my shoes on for my first run of this competition. I will be back later this morning. The rest of the weekend will be filled with a long run tomorrow, a long kayak trip afterwards, and a good recovery run and kayak trip on Sunday. Since it is a holiday weekend up here, I'll be running Monday morning before travelling back to the mine site for Tuesday work, and an early morning run with the bears.

all About the Fish boy.

Atlanta, skater, don't expect many running miles from me. A sking accident left me witha bum left knee. I get most of my miolage from skating and biking.

I do bike every workday, or skate to work occasionally. i try to get out on my skate 3-4 times a week. but the last round some injuries and other health issues didn't allow me too.

i want to burn up some miles though this round so.....let's go Team XXX

Hi guys!

The first thing I thought of for team x was XXX... but I like x-rated too.

Some bits about me:

I'm 31.5, married, have a 3 year old DS, and live in the sticks outside of Columbus, OH. I'm an enginner and work for a company that designs medical products. In a former job, I designed airbags (anything you want to know about your airbag, I'm your girl).

I started running ~5 years ago, although it wasn't until 3 years ago that I started running with any regularity. I was a reasonably good gymnast back in the day. However, my flips these days are limited to my neighbor's trampoline.

oh. . .for the bio--I'm 35, married with two great kids, live near the chesapeake bay, and have a horrible problem spelling words correctly that contain double consonnants. and I'll probably be pulling 50+ miles/week for the next couple of months.

umm, and to start things off right, i'm running The North Face Endurance Challenge 50 mile race tomorrow. . .so if I complete that will even out our score against merigayle!! keep your fingers crossed for us all...it's going to be hot and humid!

I'm on roll as a badass, my lowest projection yet, but if I recover from my stress fracture in time-- you might be seeing more points than that out of me by the end of the month.

An enginner! Me too! I am sure you have a detailed log of all your runs!

I also have two kids also studying engineering. My son is in second year nanotechnology engineering, and my daughter is beginning biological engineering this fall.

Hi guys!
I'm in my mid-thirties. I've been running off and on for many years, but started running marathons/half's just a couple of years ago. I have my sights set on a winter marathon (Dec in Palm Beach) if I don't get pregnant first.

In the meantime, we just moved to Asheville yesterday, so I plan to rack up mucho points hiking and trail running around here. I just have to figure out where to work out when the weather is inclement -- will probably check out the local Y.

WooHoo!!! Go team X. I promise to do my duty for team XXX. Especially since I have a marathon coming up....I should be racking up the points.

I am a 28 year old from the San Francisco Bay area who has been running for about 4 years. I only actually got serious about running a little over a year ago though and ran me first half last Oct. I ran my second half last Jan and have since set my sights on an Oct marathon.

I MUST get more points for this team than Anty gets for his team...this is my ultimate goal!
