Good Morning Team. This is your captain speaking. I anticipate clear skies and an early arrival time to our destination. I just don't know where that destination is - that's why I just play a captain in VRAA but am not one in real life. . .

Here's our Team and what we signed up for:

Tamster (mega BA)

Litchfield Hills (BA)

Marko (Super Mega BA)

Mmoon (Mega BA)

Dougie (BA) (we will get you outta that funk. Oh yes we will!)

maccabeth (Mega BA)

If you'd like, post a little intro about you and if you have any particular races or goals this round. I'd love to get to know you a bit better - I don't get outside of the masters forum much.

I have one race this round and it's this Saturday. just a 10K. But I have a HM coming up the end of Feb (so will miss it this round), but I should have some decent mileage weeks leading up to it.

No races this round. I just want to get back into the swing of working out. Weights, yoga, x-c skiing and running are on the agenda so alt points will be key to my success the round making my 60-120 pts / week.

Hi!

I'm so excited that VRAA is back! I'm in the early part of training for my HM on March 5th, but I will be supplementing with spin and hopefully kickboxing (gotta dig out of this snow so I can get to the gym and cash in my month voucher!) I've got at least one, maybe 2 10ks planned. Goal is to stay consistent and get ready for the HM!

Looking forward to getting to know y'all better. Also, just know that even if I don't check in here everyday, I am recording points on the main site. I sometimes don't have time to post it everywhere!

good morning Team!

I'll be getting in a run at lunch time today and then doing some extra stretching tonight as I have a race in the morning. My wknd internet time is somewhat limited as I have dial up at home, so most of the time, it's not even worth it to try and log on.

oh! I just realized this is a 3 day wknd for me! cool - that means I'll have an extra day in there to get in some extra running.

Litchfield and Mmoon - - you out there??

I think Moonie was off seeing his girrrrrllllfriennnnd this weekend. He'll be back!

I got in runs every day since Friday! Yay! Since we've got another holiday tomorrow, I'll do a short run (after today's LR) and weight training at the gym. I'm pretty sore from Friday's upper body/ab workout still. (My first workout since like last August!)

After I entered my points tonight, I checked and we were in first place! Woot!

Hi Team! I got in a decent workout today. My son and I went to the gym and played basketball and I did some weights/stretching/abs/elliptical, then I came home and went for a run. I'll put all the details in the daily. 41 pts today, plus I did some stretching and core work last night for 4 pts also.

Hi all. Well, I'm back from visiting my girrrrrllllfriennnnd this weekend (as Beth so kindly pointed out )

Anyway, I'm just trying to train into something - not sure what I'm quite motivated to do quite yet, but doing a whole lot of sitting around isn't going to get me to that something to begin with.

First workout in the books as of today - 5.7 mi of running and 3.25 mi of walking.

Well, nowhere to go but up from here...

The last week here has been a bust, but I did get in a run this morning. Today is actually my first day in the office since last Wednesday, because of mother nature. That, and the guy who plows my driveway has been a no show. I have about an hour commute, and use the gym at work. With all of the snow we have had the roads are not runnable.

To fix this, I have done two things - bought a snowblower so I am not dependant on anyone else to get in and out of my driveway (my drive way is ~150 feet long, 10% grade), and I am getting a pass to a gym near my house (good for 25 visits) so if I have to work from home, I can go to the gym at some point to do something. Plus, on the weekends, the roads will still be un runnable, so I can use it on the weekends for now as well.

Sorry for getting off to such a lousy start here, hopefully I can start racking up some points now.

Ok, finally got my points in to the points website and the daily threads. We've had a lot of snow around here so I took advantage with some x-c skiing and even some skating/hockey in the neighbor's backyard rink. Unfortunately, so much time is taken up by clearing the driveway I haven't also been able to run and yoga across America like I've wanted. At least I was able to get some time in the woods on the planks though.

yesterday was a rest day for me but did 25 minutes of stretching/stability ball/core work last night while watching tv. Am planning on a run during my lunch hour today also.

I posted my woes in the snow shoveling thread. I haven't been able to get a workout since the beginning of the week because I've been out every day, sometimes twice, clearing snow. Each time takes 1 - 2 hours so there goes my workout time. I am hoping to get a couple of x-c skis and yoga in this weekend. It would even be nice to get on the treadmill. That'll all depend on DW's mood (as usual) now that the snow has stopped.

Dougie, was there ever an answer from the Commish about whether or not snow shoveling could count for something? I know in the past, they've said stuff like that doesn't count but I seem to recall one round when they made an exception due to weather conditions and peoples' inability to do anything other than shovel to get some exercise.

I got in a run this afternoon and also some stretching and core stuff.

I think the verdict is still the same: no points for doing the chores -- just like reality :)

I did get out on my x-c skis a couple of times this weekend so I am happy to report I am doing the minimum for Badass :). The snow was so deep in the woods I got quite the workout. It's like running without all the pounding. I think that's why I like it so much -- besides being out in nature and all that stuff.

I miss cross country skiing. I did quite a bit of that when I lived in MN. It was nice because I could just put on a pair of skiis and go to some trails/wooded area right by my house. I didn't have to drive anywhere.

yesterday was truly lazy for me. it was playoffs.

this should be a decent week for me mileage wise and I'll continue doing what I can for those extra alternate points, like stretching/core work, etc. I am scheduled to run 30-35 miles and I think our weather will cooperate so that I can actually do that.

Hi Team! How's everyone doing?

I have a good weekend lined up I think. I am planning on a long run Saturday - around 13 miles i think. and then sunday my son wants to go to the gym and play basketball and workout, so I'll likely get in a decent points that day also, on what would normally be a rest day for me.

Hope you all have a good weekend!
