<p>Hello team! I'm here and this round is perfect timing for me. I have a half marathon on Sunday (my first!) and a 5k the following weekend. And I'm the type that doesn't like to race, ha.... I'm also on a team for the Ragnar Relay New York that's May 13-14, so as long as I stay uninjured (knock wood!), I should be pretty good for bringing in the running points.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>And speaking of points, I went to a 90 minute yoga class this morning (taper, ya know) and the scoring site still says there's a 12 point cap on alt workouts. Is there a work-around in progress for that, or what?</p>

<p>I think I know most of you, by name only though. Amichel, I don't know much about you, other than to thank you for volunteering to be our captain. :)</p>

<p>ETA: Never mind, the caption might say 12 point max, but it took my 18 points no problem.</p>

<p>1) What does your user name on kickrunners represent? How did you choose it?</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff8c00;">My first yoga mat was orange, so that was the handle I used on the yoga forums I used to frequent. I didn't even realize at the time that I picked the name that it shortens to "OM". Kinda auspicious, no? Well, I don't post on yoga forums anymore, and I hardly even practice yoga (though I'm a yoga teacher), but I kinda liked the joke of it, so I kept the name. My current yoga mat (I've gotten several new ones since) is orange once again.</span></p>

<p>2) Where do you regularly post?</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff8c00;">Masters Club. I'm really OLD.</span></p>

<p>3) What's your favorite part of VRAA?</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff8c00;">I normally don't allow myself the luxury of counting walking as part of my exercise. So VRAA gives me the "permission" to slack off without feeling guilty.</span></p>

<p>4) Is there something new you plan to try this round?</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff8c00;">As I mentioned earlier, I'm rather race-phobic, but I'm signed up with 6 other women to run the More Magazine HM this Sunday, an all-women's race in Central Park. So that's about as new as it gets!</span></p>

<p>What is your favorite distance to race?</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff8c00;">Well, considering I've only done two 5k's, and the first one was a pretty horrible experience, I'll let y'all know after tomorrow.</span><br>

<p>What new thing should Theia try this round of VRAA?</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff8c00;">How do I find out what she hasn't done yet?? I'm training for a relay in May, so I had to run 3x in one day last weekend, how's about that?</span></p>
<p>My triple, or trifecta, was supposed to be 5, 5 and 3 miles. I ended up doing 5.3, 6 and 3.25. I have another one on the schedule for this Sunday of 6, 4 and 4. To best simulate the relay conditions, I do these trifectas with at least 4 hours in between. But no, I don't go sit in a van for the off-hours between runs. <span><img alt="icon_tongue.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/icon_tongue.gif"></span></p>

<p>Yeah, I asked that same question the other day... not that I'm any more creative... but preferably not something named after a greasy fast food establishment, ick...</p>

<p>Just a big ol' goose egg for me today. My first real no-activity rest day since the half marathon last Sunday. I just realized, I had two races <em>within</em> a week, yowza! I certainly earned my satisfaction points today, though. ;)</p>
<p>OK, so are we official on the name? How do we put that into motion? er, well, you know what I mean....</p>

<p>Everyone's doing great! And we're in first place again, woot! Congrats on the weight loss, Theia. Though as Dr. Pam Peeke said (I saw her at the expo for the More Half Marathon the weekend before last), you tend to find what you lose. So you <em>removed</em> weight, not lost it. ;)</p>
<p>Oh Theia I'm so sorry to hear this! Could you have possibly broken a rib?? Not the elbow thing, but the breathing/getting dressed/etc symptoms you describe. Nothing you can do for something like that other than rest, unfortunately... and meditate, of course... ;)</p>

<p>And here I was feeling so good for finally taking a cutback week, after over a month of 40+ mileage. Frack indeed.</p>

<p>I have an 18-miler on the schedule for Sunday. I'm doing a group run event that tops out at 13 miles. Somehow, somewhere, no matter how slow, I'll get those extra 5 miles done. Now get better, ya hear??</p>
