Hi Richard!

Let's also give each other a little 411 about ourselves...

Me - I'm a crosstraining running fool. I'm training for the St. Louis and Madison marathons at present and a bunch of shorter races. I also get in a fair amount of crosstraining with yoga, weight lifting, swimming and spinning. I'll be your cappie for this round of the VRAA so just post your points in the daily thread and I'll be sure to report them to the higher ups

My 411,

I live in Wisconsin... and am using this year (my second year of running) as a base building year for hopes of doing a ultra in 2009. I will run the Twin Cities marathon this year and a few halfs along the way. I am adding three nights of Weights and Core work this month and a bunch more walking as well.

hey guys I didin't get on here quick enough to get myself takien off the team. hopefully i'm not a downfall. I'm a college runner, training for the outdoor 10k. if things smooth out, I should be returning to 100 mile weeks, 40 mins of core, and a race a week, so pretty big points. However, i fell 2 days ago and can't run right now, for at least a day, i also have an infected ingrown hair. And on top of this, i think I may have a hernia. If the hernia thing is not true than I should be able to manage my 40 points a day based off cross training until I can run again which will hopefully be soon.

Checking in!

I only just started running this past summer so I signed up as a BAIT. Right now I'm working up to the 10k distance and do a little bit of cross-training as well. I'm not sure what the challenge on the 8th is exactly, other than that you get extra points for that day, but it's my birthday and I'm not sure that I'm going to be able to post any points for that day. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on that one. Other than that I'm excited!

My 411 -

I live in California and I start official marathon training on Monday for the Eugene Marathon on May 4th. I also strength train and am willing to do other various forms of general cardio for the sake of the team.

It's a great motivator and cool way to get to know more peeps. As for reporting the points, there will be a daily thread where you post your points for the day - if you wouldn't mind noting Team R for a bit, I'd appreciate it -- until I start remembering everyone.

SeaPig here!
Ran Boston and Memphis Marathons in 07 following the pfitz 18/70 plans.
Starting to ramp back up with plans for Chicago or NYC Marathons in the fall and general racing until then. Told myself I was going to do some pilates to strengthen my core but have not made it a routine yet.
So I signed up for the 50 miles running but I might have some 70 mpw potential later in the game.

Still pretty new to this site.

Welcome! I also followed Pfitz 18/70 program last year for Chicago (crash n' burn) and then NYC. I'll be back to Chicago this fall to make up for my failed attempt last year.

Best thing about the VRAA is that everything counts! Take into account any running, crosstraining (yoga, pilates, swimming, spinning, outdoor biking, elliptical, walking!) and stuff like weight lifting and other core work as well as stretching. The pts. really do add up!

I am shooting for atleast 16 points a day and more on days I run. that is nothing more than a 3 mile walk and an hour of weights and core... on my rest days from running. and it is only a one month commitment.

Eddited to add my Math sucks... you get 12 points for an hour of Alternate.... So 16 points will be very Easy to come by ...

Everybody should try to find a way to get minimum of 4 points a day (1 mile walk) But will be easy to get more.

Hey team R!!!

My 411-

I'm coming back after having a SF so my points should be increasing each week. I'm now concentrating on building up a base and staying injury free. I'll be doing some x-training to help offset the lower running miles the first few weeks.

Greetings everyone!

This is my second go-around with VRAA, and I was blessed to be on the winning team last time. I tore my plantar fascia last August and I still can't run very well, so I'm still in the BAIT category. However, as a BAIT last time I somehow managed to score over 1000 points by x-training my butt across America.

This time around, I am just starting my running recovery so I'll be doing very low mileage (12 - 15 mpw). With core exercises, I'll be around 50 - 75 points a week.

I am 46 years old and live in Portland, Oregon with the beautiful Mrs. Labduck and two very spoiled cats.
