Check in, dawgs. I'm freed from being neutral on VRAA matters, so I can say this: there will be asses kicked, and they will not be ours.

Plus we have great captains.

Check in and chatter here. I'll start:

(1) I'm Hairy Trotter.
(2) I'm not particularly hairy, but I do trot.
(3) I've gotten out of shape in the last few weeks thanks to the persistant recent efforts of The Man to cramp my style, and I hope the VRAA kicks me out of the winter doldrums.
(4) My focus next year will be triathons: a few sprints and oly distances, plus a half-iron in July. I'll sprinkle in a few half marathons and shorter races.
(5) If my ass gets in shape.
(6) Hence the VRAA.

My name is Colleen. I have been consistently running for 6 months. I completed the Couch to 5k, and the OHR programs. I run more for fitness and weight loss at this point. I have no idea if I signed up for a B.A.I.T. or BA, but I will try to meet my goals every week. I hate to lose.

Somebody should have known better than to put me on a team that starts with the letter P!

Anywho, hi, I'm Nettie. This is my 3rd VRAA. I always lose, but it does make me do all the extra stuff that I typically don't do because I am a lazy mofo. I am superbad and a bad mother shut yo mouth. Right now, I'm a tad injured, but I'll be getting in plenty of general cardio and weights and walking to and from work (2 miles each way), so we should be just fine and when I get back to running (I'm thinking next week *knock on wood*), I'll be even better!

I recognize a few of you from the Boomers forum / CR. I've run 2 full's and a number of halfs. Am currently signed up for a Big Sur relay and the 500 festival "Mini" Marathon. Have kept a low profile recently due to work constraints. Am hoping that signing up for VRAA will help me to keep my running goals as a higher priority. cj

Hi, I'm Lisa. I don't remember how many VRAAs I've done, and though I've never won (yet), I enjoy them all the same. I am in full training mode for a hm and in the beginning stages for an April triathlon. I'm always as dedicated to my team as I can be, and I consider the Badasses the backbone to any team. The Titanium Badasses are the cake toppers and the first thing people notice, and they deserve respect. But it's a combined effort and we each need to do our part.

As your captain (and roots' wingman), I'd like to hear from everyine in this thread and detail any training you are involved in, if you are starting out, and what your biggest challenge will be this round.

I am not involved in any training. I run between 30-60 minutes each run, varying the speed and incline on the tm. I am not opposed to starting another training program, just not sure which one would be the best for me. My biggest challenge will be not being intimidated by the amount of miles run by other members of the team.

Hey, peeps! I started running in July with the Couch to 5k program, then went on to One Hour Runner. I'm now doing a half marathon training program. I run for fitness and because I can. It was something I couldn't do before, being born anemic. I've since found something to help correct the problem. So now I can do anything aerobic without dying. Oh, and I sometimes do yoga too.

I'm looking forward to this version of VRAA...I'm new to Kickrunners but did a few of these over on CR. I was even once on a winning team...yeah Buttslappers! I'm training for the Del Sol Ragnar Relay at the end of February, so that training combined with the VRAA will help keep me motivated. I'm a regular-type badass, looking forward to the competition.

Greetings, Team P! I recognize a few of yas.

I have been training for and racing up to the half marathon distance. The only race I have during this VRAA is a HM on January 19. I am planning to run my first marathon in May.

I signed up as super bad, and I hope to average near 200 points per week.

I'm looking forward to this, team!

Yo.

Historically, having the commissioner on your team is the VRAA kiss-of-death. I bucked the trend last round and came out on top with Team H. Let's do it again!

I'm meeting up with a few other KR'ers this weekend for 50k fun run this weekend. It's time to work off the holiday Fat Ass.

I'll be back after the weekend.

Hi Team P!!

I'm a recent C25K graduate (August) and this is my second VRAA. I signed up as Bad Ass in Training but hope to be pulling in lower end Bad Ass points by the end of this thing. I am just base building and run every other day 3-4 miles with one longer run of 4-6 miles. I'm hoping this will inspire me to go on the longer end of my runs. I also walk a lunch time at work on my non running days and am hoping to start some core work, too. I signed up for my first race that will be an 8K trail run in the middle of March.

Hi Team P! RunsTheBitterroot here. I am fairly new to Kickrunners, came from the boomer crowd in CR. This will be my first VRAA and hopefully more in the future. I hope that my contribution will be ok, as I tend to not run if it doesn't feel right, take cutback weeks, and won't run everyday, though I will do doubles. I have been back to running for over 3 years now without injury. Will probably do some 10k's this spring while ramping up for a late spring marathon. My reasons for running is because I can, and I love it especially the trails in the mountains which were placed convieniently behind my house.
Hi, I'm Chris, and I've totally sucked in the last couple of VRAA's - this is my chance to redeem myself.

Since tomorrow's Day 1, I'm going to start my day with an extremely rare (for me!) morning run, and an even more rare 2nd run in the evening!

GO TEAM P!!!!!!!!

Hi. I'm Beth. I'm currently in the last few weeks of marathon training for the Gasparilla in Tampa. Hopefully it won't be as hot as the meltdown in Chicago. I've also signed up for the IronGirl Olympic tri in Vegas in April and the Florida 70.3 in May. I just joined kickrunners and I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all!
