Great feedback on the logo proposal thread so lets get this show on the road and "Make It Happen".

The main vote is for the logo. If you can't decide, you have the option of voting for more than one.

I'd also like to get a feel for the color so vote for that as well and we'll have another run off later this week. I think the overwhelming desire was for a team hat but once the logo is done, we can go to town and get tattoos, shirts, etc. I don't know of all the options we have out there so if you've got any info and would like to help out, jump on in.

And now without further ado, here are the logo options. The poll will close Tuesday night:

#1

#2

hobey cafepress has a whatcha call it where you can put your logo on hats, shirts, bumperstickers, bags yada, yada, yada,
We made some for the studio and were very pleased with the results. No technical gear, for the life of me I couldn't find how to do it easily.
Also cafepress if free and easy to just play around with it you want to get a feel for how anything would look on an item. you can for example just put the logo in the type the words separately and move them about in arc's, in shape, in size...
I'll take one of those bannon sorry Mbannon hats in pink; but you can keep my twirly thing, it might speed me up and we can't have that now can we?
I still vote for that abstract line/circle athlete

Awesome work, hobey! I still love the abstract one, but I must admit I liked the original rendition (all lower case font under the logo) best.

Looking at the poll results, it strikes me that you might need to do some sort of two-tiered run-off (not counting the first thread -- who knew logo design could be so complicated!)

Right now, the folks who like the arrows best have so many to choose from, their votes will be split and us abstract folks will have an undo advantage. (Wait, maybe I shouldn't mention this.. too late.) What you might need to do is have us pick between arrows and abstract, and then, after we have the results of that round, we could narrow down the specifics of the winning versions layout. If this makes no sense, then nevermind. I can just see the arrow design getting a very divided vote. And if we can't have fairness in politics, we should at least have it in logos.

Once again, thanks for heading this up!

I like the abstract one too. Is the colour for the logo or for the hat? i.e. am I voting for, say, royal blue logo on a white hat, or a royal blue hat with a logo on it?

Random thought: What's the deal with the percentages in the results? How exactly is giving the number of votes as a percentage of the total options any help to anyone?? Shouldn't it give number of votes as a percentage of total votes cast? Just sayin'!

Awesome work Hobey. TASM, I see what you're saying and I think you're probably right. Maybe we can add up the total votes for the different arrows on this poll and compare to the votes for abstract to arrive at a decision? Then if the arrows win, just go with the option that got the most votes. Saves making another poll.

What happens if it's a draw?

Oh, not that anyone cares, but I figured out the weird percentages. It's a percentage of total voters. We're all voting for more than one thing so it's a bit confused and adds up to way more than 100%. I feel better now! (Yes, I do need to get out more!!:roll_eyes

Great suggestion Ella. I'll add and compare. The color is for the logo itself. I plan on "colorifying" (is that even a word) the winning logo on Tuesday and have another poll if necessary but it looks like royal blue is winning for now.

Awesome job, hobey. Constructive feedback...

I like number 3 best, by far. But I don't think it's there just yet. Something a bit more and I'd sign up for it. Not the others.

The other thing is the name. This may sound way outside the swim buoys, but here goes...

I'm all for positive slogans and titles and anything else where words come into play. I personally do not like Lost in Transition, because truth is we're no longer in Transition -- and yes, I do know the other reasons for the name.

That plus, Lost in Transition implies a state of being lost, or out of touch, when in fact we are the extreme opposite. We all care about our health as it pertains to triathlon and getting better and fast, and in how it pertains to our bodies for longevity and quality of life. I like more positive things, or more neutral. Just a personal preference, but when ever I see a title or logo that pawns off the negative, I turn away. To give you more an idea of what I mean, I like things like "Make it Happen!" or "Anything is Possible" or "Just Do It!" or... of course I'm not suggesting these for us. Just an example. And then pick one that can also serve as a team name. No alternate suggestions, but if others agree -- or not -- either would go with the designs.

I'll continue to think about it, and if something strikes me I'll share them here.

You've been instrumental in moving this all forward. Nice Job!

I like LIT - it's witty, I like witty things. But there are surely other witty names out there if others agree with Thor.

What about the squiggly logo with the words "Change Gears" above it and our team name of "Embrace Transition" below in a larger font?

LIT is good...
I think the double meaning of LIT appealed to a lot of people but if there is a bunch who would like something else, toss it into the ring.

Thor: Can you share what you think is missing from the squiggles? I've been trying to incorporate the many suggestions from people but most of them have been about the arrows.
