Greatings fellow team members. Let's Rock this beyoetch! <img alt="headbang.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/headbang.gif"><br><br>
Seriously, I think this is going to be a lot of fun. I hope we have some good supportive chat in our daily/weekly thread. This helps build some team unity.<br><br>
Here's my background and such:
<ul><li>This is my 3rd VRAA, my team won the last round, and the round before that, my team finished DFL.</li>
<li>I'm in the base building phase of Pfitz 18/70 training plan, so I'm doing 50+ miles weeks now. Goal race is Athens, OH on April 6th.</li>
</ul>

Timr1 - I'm sad that I'm not on your team this time... but perhaps the 'friendly' competition will help us both run our BQ's this April!

I'm here too! (30's rule!)<br><br>
I am 100 days away from my first IM attempt, so I will be putting in lots of time running, biking and swimming. In fact, I am undertaking my first century bike ride on Sunday.<br><br>

Yeah, I agree. Too bad we couldn't be on the same team again. But, our teams will benefit from our training miles, and they hopefully, we'll get the reward (BQ). I'm watching your daily mileage reports, looking to see how close we're keeping to the planned mileage. Your training is looking good so far.

My first VRAA, I just wish I was marathon training right now to bump the numbers up! (Why didn't I do this when I averaged 45mpw for 18 weeks???)<br><br>
I'm running the New Bedford 1/2 in March, am at around 25 mpw heading up to an average of about 30 in the next few weeks with additional cross and strength training. And, with any luck I'll hike another 4,000 footer in the next month to gain some extra points. <img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif">

I am running the Eugene Marathon in early May. I have been running between 25 and 30 miles a week the past couple of months and I did 1647 in 2007. I also lift weights and do abs most days. This is my first one so I am not totally sure what I am doing. Do we post daily someplace or PM someone?

I am also thinking of running the Surf City HM so that is where we actually finish VRAA.

We post daily in the daily thread. You'll see it. A typical post looks like this:<br><br>
8 miles running = 32 points<br>
12 miles biking = 18 points<br>
Total: 50 points for Team K

I've been in all the modern era VRAA's and I'm 0-fer and let me go on record and say I ain't real fucking happy about it.

Afternoon team K! I signed up as a badass and have been averaging ~25mpw lately. Training for a 25K race in May and am planning to get the mileage up to near 30mpw by the end of this VRAA. This is my first VRAA and I am hoping it will help me make a habit of adding cross training and weights in regularly. Counting on you guys to tell me if I am slacking off--ok? <img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif">

Word up Team!!!<br><br>
This is my third VRAA and the teams I've been on previously were damn near dead last.<br><br>
I guess I'm the captain and I got to report points. I'm on the West Coast, work in the daytime, so my reporting will probably be late in the evening. It's important to post your points in the daily thread as soon as possible. Also, if you need to post points from a previous day or need to catch up points, do it in the daily thread and POINT OUT which points are for what days and/or PM so I'm sure to catch them.<br><br>
Good luck everyone!! Have fun, if you try and maximize your points every day, you can see marked improvement personally by the end of this thing.<br><br>
Add on that extra 1/2 mile to run!!<br>
Add on the extra 20 minutes of stretching!!<br>
Now's a great time to start lifting weights!<br>
Need help with recovery, spend thirty minutes on a stationary bike, the increased blood flow to your legs without the jarring impact of running will greatly increase your recovery time!!<br><br>
Injured?? Use the eliptical!! Swim if you can!!<br><br>
All these things will add up.<br><br>
Stay strong, don't give up if we don't come out of the gate strong, this game is won in the latter half, when it's not new anymore and everyone is burned out and life gets in the way!!!
