I'm typically a very slow runner - I average 11:15 per mile. So...my last two runs I've averaged 10:30 per mile. I'm excited about that accomplishment. I know measured by other people's standards that's still slow as molasses, but measured against myself, I ran like the wind. <img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif">

Ya-ha-whoey!!!! Great time improvement. I run like you....11:00-11:15 and I'm ok w/ that - I'm the tortoise and my DH is the hare but I can out distance him!!!!!<br><br>

Good afternoon everybody!! Today is a running rest day for me, so did one hr of incline walking on the TM and 20 min of abs.Still need to log my points! GO TEAM J!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't run to improve my time- I run because I enjoy it. Congrats on the time improvement! As long as you continue to enjoy running, that is what is important.

Good job guys!!! Last time I checked the data base we were a little bit behind in the standings but I have faith that's gonna change soon!! Check out my sig. tershall - Sounds like we have the exact same pace. Yay! I agree with sdp and kimbro. I don't run for speed. I run to have fun. Running at a comfortable pace is so much more fun. Plus, if I was running for speed, I wouldn't be where I'm at now...6 marathons injury free. Muahahahahahaha

Good to see every is rockin' and rollin' along... we'll catch up, I KNOW we will! My trail race this morning was shortened by 2 miles due to a too high and swift water crossing and all I could think was "Ack! Less points!" My knee is still pretty swollen from my fall yesterday so I'll probably take the next 2 days off from running, but I promise to do a bunch of Pilates and upper body weights so I won't be totally point deficent. I'm icing it right now so with any luck it'll be back to normal real quick.<br><br><br>
And remember kids... Speed Kills! <img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif"> I'm nice and slow too, I just want to run very long distances and I don't care how long it takes me as long as I'm having fun.

I just got back from 14.25. I ran until 12.75 and I had to use the restroom really bad. I headed back out and my legs were pretty tired, so I walked a mile. Then I tried to run again and my legs were done. I probably could've suffered through it. I wanted to get 16.25 miles, but I think it would've done more harm than good, so I walked until 14.25.<br><br>
Tomorrow is my rest day, but I am walking 2 miles. It really bothered me that I couldn't get 16.25.

btw, does a 10-minute massage count as alternate workout? <img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif"> He stretched my muscles good.

I'm sorry for my low production this weekend. A combination of factors worked against me. We had an ice storm, the indoor track is closed for spring break, and now my treadmill is acting funky. But one way or another I'll do my best to get in 50 for the next two weeks.

I just have to figure out the calculations <b>Moon</b> sent me for the swim- 2500 yards and I've got running 5.5 miles, walking 1.5 miles, 45 mins eliptical and 15 minutes stretch to post for yesterday. Not sure what I'm doing today. Have to get some rest because I work tonight but surely something in the afternoon.<br><br>
Good workouts/runs to all today!

Tiff - isn't the swimming just counted at 1 point for every 100 yards? I'm planning to swim this afternoon so if it's counted some other way, please let me know so I can record it accurately.

I'm really excited to see that I'm not the only slow runner on this team. If I was running for speed, I would have given up a long time ago. I'm never going to be able to give anyone a run (pun intended) for their money. But I still like seeing the improvement. <img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif"> Thanks for the congrats!

Yep thanks, under the data base it looks like it's that way, so that made it easy. <img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif"> Might swim some more today too. The weather is so nice here right now.
