Hey folks - Hope all who need healing and hugs get them this week.

((((Lisa))))

So I ran a 15 K yesterday. All in all I was pretty happy with the results.

My goal race for the spring is the Danbury HM on April 6th. I want to break 2 hours there, which is a 9:09 pace. I went into this race in my highest mileage week since August. My goal was to try and hit that pace and maintain it as long as I could. It was cold - 19*, with a decent wind. It was also gloriously sunny, which helped mitigate the cold.

I got through 7 miles at a 9:12 pace, so all-in-all, I felt pretty good about it. There was NO flat sections of the course - I was either going up or coming down. And between the 9 mile mark and the end (~.35 miles) there is a 100 foot hill. Bastids. Final time 1:26, a 9:16 pace. The hair on the back of my head was frozen. But it was fun.

Today I have 4-6 recovery miles on the sched.

It is currently snowing and we have 4-6 inches on the ground with more coming down. So I had planned on 5 miles today. It could be 3 or 4, or maybe the full 5. I can switch today and tomorrow and do the 5 tomorrow. Either way I am getting in some snow shoveling today and who knows how long it will take. With this much snow it could take anywhere from 30-60 minutes. Take care everyone.

Lisa, I'm sorry to hear about your co-worker. That's really hard and it will be so weird for you go to work now, I'm sure.

Thanks everyone for all the hugs, and it is definitely weird today. You can see everyone's concern and sadness in their eyes--he was very well liked. One of my other coworkers, who worked with Gary for over 20 years including here and at their previous job, already taped a picture of him on his monitor so he is still "here". I told him we need on his chair so I can see it--we faced each other so I can't see the monitor.

I probably won't be on again until later because I really do need to stay away from my desk and stay busy. I got 3 miles in this morning though and plan to do weights at lunch today, so I'll post points later.

I got out for 4.3 miles of running and walking in the blizzard we are having here. Then it was back outside for 1 hr of snow shoveling and I got worked. 6-7 inches of the white stuff and more coming down. Will probably have more to shovel later. Here is a picture to enjoy of me out in the snow. Total for the day would be 17+12+1= 30 and that is all for me.

Lisa - sorry to hear about your loss

Kevin, I would have to seriously re-think my residence location!! Yikes

How was Chilly Cheeks???? Blast isn't it!! Love the pics!! Wish I was there to enjoy it with you all. Hope you got good shirts this year. Last years were cool. I was thinking of you guys yesterday and thought boy with these temps I am sure your cheeks were chilly!! Did anyone fall? I hit the ground hard 4 times on my first trail race. My husband was waiting at the finish line and when I came out of the woods, his eyes were real big and all he could say was "oh my, are you ok" I looked like I was fighting a war. Trail running is my FAVORITE!!!

For me - I was off yesterday and did the long run Sat. Ran along perkiomen creek with the puppers and did 7 m for 28 points. Today will be a light day. I am trying to get out the door for a brief walk and get some points.

I was able to run last night. Not far (only a quarter mile) and 12 m/m ain't fast. But that's running to me. The most curious thing, though it makes sense when you think about it, is that my left quads are hurting. With my left knee having ITBS, it was easier to walk stiff-legged because that avoids the pain. That in turn means my left quads got a couple days completely off. I'm guessing this week is cross training for me with some running, as much as I can without pushing. I should be able to get my minimum points for the Bad level, hopefully a few more.

Litch, nice mileage right after your race! Great work!

I ran 7 this morning and will do some upper body, core and stretching...
My left calf is still tight. I have a super duper massage chair at work, so it helped a tiny bit

Put in 10.18 miles, and my default 30 mins alt workout (stretching, core and some quick weights). I'm feeling a little better now, after posting a big fat 0 pointer yesterday.
