OK Team!

We've got a few people nursing injuries, jura is taking care of her daughter (how is she doing?) but we're not dead last in the standings!

So, I pledge here and now to do as much as I can to pick up some slack. I will get the maximum alt points every day this week plus whatever running I am scheduled to do, and maybe some w/u and c/d walking added on to it, time allowing.

I hope to catapult my point value into the Super Badass category at least by doing this. I should garner an extra 84 points for 7 days of alt workout points.

bikegirl has started back in with exercise as her doctor allows which is going to be a great help. But don't overdo!

If anyone hasn't reported their points for Friday (the 21st), don't forget to do so, we have 10 blank spaces in our list (I know some of those won't be filled, but I just want to be sure no one has forgotten!) Also, if anyone got the extra swim points, don't forget about the 5 points bonus.

Good luck through the week, everyone!

I'm going to try to push a little bit more this week, too... Thankfully whatever I came down with end of last week was only a cold and I'm all better!

Welcome back Bikegirl!!!!!!!!!! 23 points-- way to come back with a bang!

Injured people... just do what you can.
Jura... keep us posted this week on how things are going with your daughter if you get a chance. ((Jura)) and (((Jura's daughter)))

mmoonptdeux Noticed you've put in quite a few points - Way to go!

Hi all - yeah, we're almost dead last, but I think a lot of teams are also battling injuries or whatnot, so don't give up hope yet.

QN - glad you're feeling better. Thanks for noticing - I wasn't really planning to ramp up to just over SBA status until the very end of competition, but my body has responded well to ramping back up from injured status, plus our team needed makeup points.

bikegirl - nice comeback! Just be careful and don't overdo it, tho'

Injured-type folks - every little tiny point helps, so just do what you can within reason. I've been trying not to ramp up too fast from DL status myself but it is tempting to do so (I could've extended a few runs this week myself but thankfully the longer term view won out.) Here's hoping you folks heal up quickly & completely.

Continued healing vibes to (((Jura's DD))) Crossing my fingers that the next news is very good news

Gingerbread - great attitude! I think we'll make some noise yet before it's all done with.

Alrighty, good workout weeks to all of ya!

Joe, I'm thinking we're going to step it up as much as we can without injury!

Right back at it today for me after a busy Sunday and Monday that included 0 VRAA pts. This week is my "step-back" week so the running will be at a minimum but I'll be stepping up the swimming, biking and strength training. As much as it drove me nuts not to get anything done Sunday or Monday (it's no fun when it's planned and worse when it's not planned) I feel really good for the two days off.

The last three weeks was the first time I've ever put 3 20+mi running weeks together in a row. I also kept to my rule about 10min of strength/yoga per 1mi of running so it was a lot for me.

Hi all. Rest day yesterday - will get back on the saddle today with some running mileage and other assorted stuff.

BTW, if you did not know, our team member breger (Bill) is the POTD in the Post-Race Tent. If you want to know more about our fellow Team E member, just follow the link:
http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24941

Gingerbread - That's what I don't WANT to happen is for folks to get injured because of the VRAA - ramp it up within reason for certain.

Dougie - that's pretty awesome. I notice you've been putting in the hard work as well via your point totals.

Jura - hoping your daughter is getting better; keep us updated when you can.

Alrighty, good workouts and days to all today

Hello Team E!

Nice POTD post, BregerBill!

Non-running day for me but I'll get 12 alt points at yoga tonight. Those alt points can really add up and aren't that hard to get. So while you are watching American Idol tonight do a little stretching for the team

But of course, I don't want anyone to overdo it....

Thinking about Jura's daughter and wondering how Joplus is feeling too...

Sounds like everyone is trying to do a little extra this week to move up as they recover and restore from illness and injury. Thanks Bikegirl for the quick come back but don't overdo it! Jura - keep up with your DD. I will be maintaining this week for the 26.2 on Sunday!

I went back to the last thread and found your remark about Deadwood. I looked at the course on the Google Earth type image - it looks great. The elevation may be a little daunting for us coming from lower elevations but the course we ran in Estes Park CO was much higher and hillier so I am looking forward to an exciting run there.

60min on the bike trainer and 60min of strength training for 32pts today. Tomorrow I hit the pool. I am a slow swimmer so I don't know how many points I'll get out of it . Maybe I should count it as cardio instead . I certainly don't swim 2000y in a one hour workout.

I think we're both members of the SSA (slow swimmers anonymous), Dougie. Today's my pool day as well.

I have been adding in some walk mileage to & from the pool, but I wish it wasn't QUITE as long as it is (about 1.6 miles round trip)

I could walk to the pool but it'd be 35mi each way from home or 25mi each way from work .

Sounds like one heck of a hellacious aquathlon opportunity (run 25 mi, swim, run 35 mi)

I have had a busy day! Thanks Choovie for putting aqualung in my head - now I'll never go to sleep even though a few minutes ago I was having a hard time keeping my eyes open!

Not much of a workout for me today. 27 minutes rowing, 1.5 mile run on the treadmill with q .25 cool down and then some upper body work for 20 minutes. Then I came home to work on the home improvement project so we can get the furniture moved back into the office by Friday!

Has Jura posted lately? How's her DD doing?

1000yd swim for me (first time in the pool since Oct.) followed by 50min of yoga/stretching = 20pts. Now it's time for bed. Same thing planned for tomorrow. I have a one week pass to a local gym so I am trying to take advantage of the pool. This one isn't 35mi from home and 25mi from work but 12mi from home so MAYBE in the summer if this is the pool I join I will bike/swim/bike it. Does that make it a Duaquabikethlon?

Ah, yesterday was such a tiring day for me. Not enough sleep on Tuesday night made me so tired. I wasn't scheduled to run, didn't walk, but I got in some alt. points at least. I was asleep before 8:30pm.

Today I'm feeling good though, so I should be able to get in a nice little run and the requisite alt. workout points.

Thanks for the link, Bill!
