Please take a minute to announce which races you are training for, if you are in-between races, how many points you plan to contribute weekly (it doesn't have to be exact), and if this is your first VRAA or if you are a veteran.

Let's D-estroy the competition!!

hey I have never done this before..have no idea about points..I run 50-70 miles per week + crosstraining. Someone will have to help me with the points. This sounds fun

Oh..I have 2 Marathons in the next 8 months
Please visit Hairy's thread for this round if you are new to the VRAA: http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12018
I've been in a bunch of VRAAs, but never (yet) on the winning team.

I usually run 70+ miles per week, but my marathon is Oct 7 so I'm in the last week of taper, and I'll probably take a day or two off after the race. So I won't be racking up the miles at first, but give me some time and I'll do my best.
This is my third (or fourth...I really can't remember) and I've not won, either. From what I've learned, it's not all about running and MPW. Cross training is huge, of course, but most important is that everyone log something every day, even if it's just 30 minutes of core, weights, a walk, or a yoga DVD.
I'm on Team E but would be willing to not rack up many/any points for the right price.
How do you feel about a made-from-scratch New York style cheesecake?

Would that be enough?
Hi,Team D. This is my first VRAA and I plan on logging at least 60 points per week. I'm recovering from hip bursitis and am s_l_o_w_l_y increasing my weekly running mileage. (I'm just about up to 15 mpw now). I also do some swimming and mat work (exercises for my bum hip and overall strength).

Oh, I have a 3 mile race in 2 weeks, a 5K in early November, and a 7 mile X-country in mid November. (That last one might be too late to count for this round, though.)
I'm listening.

HIIIIEEEEE!

i am a VRAA veteran and i was shooting for a 10k on turkey day. not so sure if that is going to happen, but i have also been looking for a 5k to do too.

i am hoping to get in at least 10-12 miles a week, 40-48pts/week. i know its not much, but my schedule is pretty whack right now and im lucky if i get to walk the dog on a daily basis.
First timer here. I have a good October Schedule. 1/2 M on 10/7,
10k on 10/13, 20k on 10/21 and a 50k on 10/28. Should be good for 60-miles and more per week. I will have to look up on how to score it.

1-2-3 Lets go!
Important announcement for Team D:

This is a long race, we don't want to get burned out early, so let's all take the first week off and slowly ramp up after that!!

Let's all be careful out there team, don't overdue it, remember, low mileage equals low injuries.

Smooches.
Wooooo hooooo Team Dynomite! This is my second time playing along with the VRAA; looking forward to making this a comfortable journey for all as co-cappie.

I have two big races coming up - Chicago Marathon this weekend and the NYC Marathon on 11/4. I normally run somewhere around 50-60 miles/week but I'm in taper mode now. I promise to rack up plenty of x-t pts. and will be running an active recovery/prep between marathons.

Let do this!!!
I'm just trying to help, hunni.

xoxo
Third or fourth VRAA for me. I've never won but they are lots of fun and a great way to make sure you get your ass out of the door when you feel like bailing.

I'm currently tapering for a 50 miler this weekend. Another 50 miler in November if this goes long enough. Usually good for 30-50 depending where I am in my cycle.

Good luck everyone and as haha said even if its just a couple of miles or a few minutes, get out there!
Yep, good luck everyone. Another first timer here. Nice to meet those I do not know. I'm not racing at all this fall, so the mileage isn't very high. I'll try to chip in the points from 25-30 mpw with a bit of cycling and weight/core work tossed in.
Great start Team let's DOOOOOO this!!!
YAY!!!!

We're off to a great start!

Some of you are racking up some serious points already. I, however am a badass in training.. so I will do what I can. I am just getting back into serious workout mode after being out of commission for a couple of months due to medical reasons.

I'm following Hal Higdon's novice 5k plan to help build my base back up.

Lets kick some dyno-mite booty!
I've done a couple of other VRAAs but have never won.
