Hey guys, to keep any one thread from getting super long we're going to start a new thread for each week of the competition this way we can post up our goals for the week and help encourage each other.<br><br>
Remember alternative workouts are the bonus category for this weekend so get something in for that and claim those bonus points when you're tallying up your totals. If you're having trouble using the scoring system let Tamster or I know and we'll make sure your points get in.<br><br>
As for my week, I'm heading out of town tonight (uhh...barring this nor'easter changing my plans) so I'll try to get some yoga in the hotel room. I have a 3 mile and a 6 mile run planned for over the weekend as well. Unfortunately I won't have internet access again until late Monday night most likely, so my points will get posted up as I can.<br><br>
Let's get a strong start on the race, try and get at least a point a day and keep each other encouraged. This round ends when the first three teams reach NYC so getting points early on is extra important!

I'll be around more this weekend than I usually am on weekends. i have today and monday off from work, which will allow me to get more working out in my schedule than usual.

I ran 4 today and have a long run of 12 planned for Sunday. Tomorrow is my rest day but I am hoping to do some yoga. March is supposed to be a high mileage month for me so the timing of this is perfect. I don't have any races planned though - hockey playoffs are putting a little dent in my plans to do the Eastern States 20 miler or Run to the Border HM.

I ran 8 miles this a.m. and will do core and stretching later.

I did a lot of upper body lifting this morning. I feel less jello-like now... I have 13 miles planned for tomorrow. 13 very lonely miles, as I have to run before my normal group and sometimes running partner has the flu. Poor me<img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><br><br>

Today is a rest day for me. I have core scheduled for today. I'll be around during the weekend. I have 7 scheduled and a full body weight workout scheduled for tomorrow. Sunday is rest day since I have hill intervals on Monday morning. I may go ahead and do core though.

Newbie here.<br><br>
Just finished up 8 miles.<br><br>
As for the weekend, I have 8 planned for tomorrow and then 17 on Sunday.<br><br>
I'll do something with my dumbbells tomorrow too for those extra points.<br><br>
Should be a good points weekend from what I gather.

We're off to a great start, I just want to remind everyone that you should still post your points in the daily thread as well as on the scoring database.<br><br>

We're also still looking for 3 volunteers for the spotlights that mmoon is doing for this round. I believe answering a questionaire is all that is required. I don't mind doing it, but we need some other folks too!

I am blind, just found this thread, put in 8 over a long lunch today. that means tomorrow is an easy 4, and sunday I have a 20 miler on tap! so I can get some nice points up there this weekend for us.<br><br>
should be able to get that alt workout bonus tomorrow as well<br><br>
if we do the bonus do we simply add it on to the alt workout point total you score?

I think that is correct Korbel - just add 5 pts to your alternate workout points. I haven't had a chance to check out the new scoring system yet, but later tonight I'll have time to play around with it and figure things out.<br><br>
Seems like we got lots of 8 mile runs in today! We are off to a great start and it's also sounding like several folks have quite a bit of running they are getting in this weekend.

24 minutes cardio, 10 minutes core and stretch, 300 yards swim...<br>
13 points for team Catch us if you can (plus 5 bonus) ...<br><br>

You don't need to post your points in this thread, you do need to post them in the daily thread. This thread is just so we can encourage each other. <img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif">

Yesterday wasn't such a great day but today's 4 miles seemed easy with 1.5 of walkup-walkdown<br>
felt pretty good. May have been the XT warm up.<br>
I'm just getting back in the groove from a week off sick after a 50K mid-Feb. So this weekend maybe light. But I still rember how to ride a bicycle.... It's just like riding a bicycle.<br><br>

chosha - core work does fall under alternate workout, which qualifies you for the 5 bonus pts also. You can either claim those now or if you'll be doing alternate workout either tomorrow or sunday, you can always claim it then also.<br><br>
And thanks for adding points today!
