Hi Team!

Please do these things:
1) introduce yourself to the team - if you need or want anything from the team, let us know
2)Suggest a team name
3)Think about how to take advantage of all the bonus opportunities this round!

I try to keep track of everyone and send a PM if I don't see you post as regularly or if your points are way below what you signed up for. If you have an injury or taper or just a bad week and want to be left alone, send me a PM first;) It's never my intention to nag! It's a big team this time, so I probably won't have time to check every single post in the daily threads.

Rest up today and tomorrow and rack up the points starting Friday

Tamster reporting in!

I sat the last round out, but have played in most every round since VRAA 5 I think.

I ranked myself as a BA this round because I just don't know what is realistic for me during the month of August. I just came off a Relay Race, so other than a 10K race in a couple weeks, I am not really training for anything and tend to be a little lackadaisical during our August heat.

I'm confused on all these bonus points but I guess it'll all work itself out.

During VRAA I do get pretty consistent on stretching and core work. It's easy to do that stuff while watching a bit of TV in the evenings.

a bit about me: I'm primarily a poster in the Masters forum although I try to wander out and about (said in my best minnesota accent) once inawhile. But you know how old folks get - they find their comfort zone and stick with it. and I don't care what anyone says, I'm not a sandbagger . . . okay, maybe I was once or twice . . . but that's it!

Hey all, OM checking in here. I'm from the Masters forum too, and as of last time I checked, I'm a yoga teacher. So yeah, I'll be making sure I log my stretch time (kinda happens sporadically all day long for me). Can't donate blood anymore, unfortunately, but I'll do whatever else I can.

Hi Team, and Amichel, and Tam, and OM, and

I'm bty (easier to type and pronounce than betterthanyesterday).

I'm also a Masters' Forum frequentee, and have participated in 3 or 4 previous VRAA's. This is the first time I've signed up as a Soooper Mega BA, but I was right on the verge of SM last round, when I was training for a 10k, that I decided that training for my 15k will put me over the edge.

Bonus Points - Just call me Bonus Boy.

I promise to check in on Tamster on the Master's Daily during Lackadaisical August and make sure she's bright eyed and bushy tailed. :)

Good day all.

I signed up at Titanium. I will start strong and then taper toward then as this round ends the Thursday before my Half Ironman.

I hang out in the Finsh Line forum, sometime multisport forum. I will do what I can for bonus points but I don't stretch too often before or after. I guess I will have to start. I will have a 5k race this round.

I am hoping for a strong day on Friday, not sure since I just raced Sunday and my legs still are not 100%.

Just stay safe out there and don't overtrain because of VRAA. Use it as a motivator to get out there and train, not overtrain.

I totally agree. Do what you can do it safely. This game is not worth an injury (few things are!)

I'm the Dark Lord, hang out with the Masters as they know everything about everything. Also been spotted in the multi forum thanks to last years injuries .

I'm a training monster and just do lots so signed myself for a Titanium Jacket

Currently training for the World Age Group Duathlon Championships and I have my first ever draft legal Elite duathlon the week after that. Funny thing Time trialling on a normal road bike in a normal helmet :¬0

Tapering - I have heard of it so expect me to have an easy day on the occasional Friday

I would say be afraid be very afraid BUT I'm on your side :¬)

Expect big points as they will be delivered. Took a break during the last VRAA but have done quite a few since I joined the forum. I'm not big on the bonus options so deliberately don't post every day in the daily. Not sure what to do about the other stuff. I volunteer at a race nearly every weekend and I stretch all the time. 3 to 4 sessions a day means I have no choice.

Hi everyone!!!

I'm up here in NJ where this summer's heat is just darn icky.

I'm reeally bad at the creativity thing so let's see what names come out!!

I'm supposed to be building a base for my half marathon training which will start up just after this round ends, but I did just sign up for a personal trainer twice a week to help me actually do core building and strength training so I'll be building up points in the alternate category consistently! I'm hoping the team can inspire me to get a run in at least on the days I don't get beaten by my trainer!

Let's get it started!

Hi all. I am a Master's forum person, also mostly lurk in PRT and read some other forums when I get a chance.

I don't run much, cycling is my thing but I do that 3-4 days a week usually at least 20 on my after work days and double that on weekends. I also have and know how to use inline skates and I think it may be time to dig them out! I signed up as MBA this round because I didn't want to sandbag and hope that motivates me to do my morning workouts which include elliptical or running and weights.

Hey all rugby here.

A little about me. I mostly post in the VRAA forum and have not missed a VRAA since #3 or #4 can't remember. I love this game and it has really helped me stay consistent over the years. I signed up for Megbadass. I try to run everyday and do my fair share walking and team sports mostly with my son and daughter who are 11 and 9. This round I will be playing a little rugby with my old teammates from Michigan State so that should be fun. I really don't stretch much so hopefully this will get me started.

I'm going out of town today and will return next Monday so I probably win't be on here much we will see....

I'm really looking forward to this round and getting to know you all better.

LET'S WIN THIS SUCKER

I like the name Gobi came up with...

Thanks Captain Amichel.

Hey Teammates!

breger1 checking in here. Otherwise known affectionately on the Master's Forum as Byll, BQyll, BurgerMeister, Bonger, Billger, ByllQ, ad naseum. You get the picture. Those Masters Forum people are too old to remember how to spell my name.

But they all know how to run! (Me too!)

I am training for TCM the 1st weekend of October so August will be a big mileage month for me. I don't do any workouts other than running though I will probably try to stretch a little for the bonus points. I live and train in H&H South Florida which can be a challenge. But regardless of that, I run every day so you'll see consistent points throughout.

I skipped the last VRAA round but I was in for the previous 3 VRAA's all of which my Team won. (And No it wasn't due to me, that's only a coincidence!)

Tamster was on a Relay last weekend and I really liked their team name. We should use it.

A few things

1) the team B captain has started some smack talking on my facebook wall. Game on!

2) Your cap'n has to confess to signing up for a couch to 5k training group at the local running store. Yes, it is time to start over.

3) Keep the name ideas coming. Unless a consensus appears sooner, I will make an executive decision Monday morning.

Hey all!

I mainly hang out in the 30's area and sometimes lurk in the PRT. This is my 3rd VRAA after taking some time off. I'm getting back to building up my mileage after taking some time off.

Greetings everyone!
Another Masters foggie here. I think this is my 5th VRAA, but first where I'm not x-training as injury rehab. I do stretch after every run, so I'll take gratuitous use of that bonus. I am also running HTC in a few weeks, and I treat each leg as a race, so I'll claim bonus three times for that.

Let's roll.

Hey, y'all.

I was part of the victorious A Team in the last VRAA. I should be able to help out a bit here, especially with the extension of this round to 9/6 as I am racing on 9/5 also: the Tupelo 14.2 mile run. 14.2, you wonder? For this race, the marathon is an out and back course. The shorter route sticks with the marathon through 13.1 at which point they run around the chair in the road and head back the way they came. We have to run the 1.1 miles back to the furniture store to finish. Race slogan is "Trample the Weak. Hurdle the Dead," and halfers get half a medal. All this for running at 5:00 a.m. in Tupelo, MS, on Labor Day weekend.

Anyway, I'm unemployed right now, so I should log some points every day.

If we want to play of the "A" in our temporary name, we could be Always Awesome.
