NOTE: THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION

So, I was wondering how much you guys would pay for

1. underwater taping

2. above water taping

3. analysis of #1 and #2

We do this (free) for our tri club members. Usually 2x/yr. No analysis, except morons like me pointing out that there feet are scraping the bottom and that they should wear socks

But we've been approached by another group. They'd like taping and I imagine, analysis.

So I started asking around some local fishies what they would charge to do the analysis. Getting wildly different answers.

So ultimately there are costs if we don't do it for our group.

1. Pool

2. Person filming above water

3. Person filming below water

4. Person doing analysis

But most people don't think of it that way. They think, oh, I'd pay $99 for that. Or $10. Or whatever. That's what I am looking for... would you pay for it and how much?

Just getting a feel for the "market" so we can look to charge a price that is fair, but yet we can accomplish what they need

thanks!

p.s. if you'd never pay for it, please say so, that's good to know. Why wouldn't you?

I have only had it done as part of a clinic. So, I don't have an individual price for you. I think if you get enough peeps, $25 should work out for everyone. The teams that did mine, filmed about 15 people/hr and two coaches did the reviews on the side of the pool.

Our trib club used to offer filming/analysis to the members during the sat practice, at no additional charge, about 2x/yr a few years ago. But whoever fishies (usually V.P. of Swimming) offered his/her time had to prepare for the taping, TV screen (our camera was old) to review it, etc. Eventually, it became too much for work for one person, and died.

I also was taped as a part of a group clinic, and it was $25. The Masters swim I used to go once in a while offered this service at no additional charge. I would say how much I would be willing to spend depends on how 'good' the analysis would be. Would the analysis done by National level coach, or swimmers (well, this is tricky because good swimmers are not necessarily good coach, I hear) or by who. 30min lesson with pre-analysis filming and post-analysis filing with recommended drills and such - I may pay...~$45? Not sure. A lesson for 30min around here is $25-$40.

Our masters swim group had a coach from another, local masters swim group do some video. He did both above and below water with a simple, handheld cybershot-type camera (it had high res video...there was something about the number of pixels per second or something that results in smooth, not-jumpy video) and an underwater housing. He asked for an ice coffee and some beer. I believe we came up with the iced coffee, a few gift cards from Dunks and at least 3 six-packs of beer.

We just did a 12 week clinic with a Coach where they film you 2 times 1st and last. It was 200, but included 12 weeks of workouts and emails. You get about 5 total hours, and between 4-6+ people per session
