<p>early, early, rumor:  Joe Torre could be the next MGR in Chicago.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>He's supposedly done in LA after the season, and wants to continue managing.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Da Cubs have the money to pay him.</p>

I would tend to doubt that.</p>

<p>A rather disappointing year for the Cubs I would assume.</p>
<p>But at least the WS streak is still alive.</p>

<p>I hear more that the Cubs might go after Girardi (x-cub) or they have Ryne Sandburg managing in AA ball.  The new ownership will pay the going rate.</p>

Girardi would be great, but I don't see him leaving the Yanks, unless George's boys sell the team and the new owners want to install their own guy.  (possible)</p>

<p>Sandburg would have the love of the fans, so that'd be a good PR move.</p>
