Hello hello!!

An easy 30min run for me this morning. It was the perfect kind of day for an early morning run--partly cloudy and cool, with a hint of rain.

Pueblo Hot to Trot 5K this morning. The family raced today.

This course starts on a street in the middle of downtown Pueblo amongst the vendor stalls at the Chile Festival. Down a block, right turn to the next street, right turn and up a bridge over the Arkansas River - the only big hill. Then down to a trail along the river for the next mile, crossing back over the river on a footbridge, then some gradual uphill before merging onto the Pueblo Riverwalk trail, then back to the starting street and two blocks to the finish.

I started out strong trying to get a gap on Donnie, but he hung right with me. He then passed me on the hill and was looking good. He got about a hundred yards on mbefore I started reeling him back in at about the 1 mile mark. I ran behind him for the next mile and when I sensed he was starting to struggle made a solid pass. I really pressed it for the next half mile to get a gap on him so he wouldn't be able to out kick me at the end. Finished with my second fastest 5K ever and fastest on this course. Donnie came in about 20 seconds later. Vicki also ran a solid race and we think it may have been a PR.

So I still wear the family crown. We'll race again in November after his XC season is over and I'm thinking he'll get me by then.

Did the local Race for the Cure 5K this morning. Was planning on going a little harder than I did, but ended up staying with my friend. She was pushing for a sub-30, and it's a pretty hilly route, but she did it - 29:24! I was really proud of her! I've never paced someone before...it was fun!!! And of course it was a great day to be out there with so many survivors...an inspirational, wonderful day.

Great stuff today everyone!

Just a 3.4 mile walk for me. Spent most of the day cooking meals for this week and doing laundry while watching the abysmal Patriots game. 4.5 mile run yesterday.
