Good morning. I had a great gym workout this morning with hubby. I did 10 mins on the arm bike, 10 mins rowing underhand, 30 mins on the elliptical using the arms thing too, and then some light upper body work and 50 crunches. This was the first time I've done elliptical since my calf injury and it felt great to work up a good sweat. When we got home, we took the pups for a 1/2 mile brisk walk.

This afternoon we're going to see "Into the Wild" at the movie theater. Have a wonderful day, everyone! It's gorgeous here in NY.

Good morning twhite and susan. Where is everyone? I thought I might go out for a little run this morning but am waiting for MrC to get home to see if he wants to join me. He's at our son's football game and now I'm wishing I would've gone too. Here's a link to my race report at the other site. http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/Fo...L/011422.shtml

Good morning (for me anyway!) everyone. Today is my only rest day of the week. This VRAA thing has got me doing something every day (running, biking, swimming, exercises, etc) and I need a day off. I also need to "recover" from the Oregon vs Washington football game last night (Ducks won 55-34. Woohoo!).

Hey tom, how's the leaf raking going this Fall? I'm in the midst of the heaviest leaf fall of the season. I'm getting blisters on my hands, and I do wear gloves!

choovie, great race report! I loved the pics, except for the glaring omission of a photo of you.

Nice Race report choovie looks like a challenging and pretty race. I believe I ate at the Road Kill once.

Here is my race report for the Kansas City Race
http://www.kickrunners.com/forum//sh...ad.php?t=13264

Did 4 Magical Healing Miles today. Ended up with 29 for the week ( a high for my second running life) and a 45 year age group PR. Very pleased with the week. Starting my marathon training for a february run. The folks I ran with decided to do another local half the first weekend in november. I signed up too. Some more race bonus for team A.

Going to see Elizabeth the Golden age this afternoon. Since Riley is going to see Into the wild perhaps we should do movie reviews as well as run reports and Pie recipes.

Happy Sunday! 6 miles in 49:50, 8:25 pace. A gorgeous, sunny day here again. I think hubby and I will jump on our bikes and head to the trail.

Choovie.....great RR. What a beautiful scene! Great prizes too! Congrats on your race!

Hi everybody!
Susan.. you are progressing very well with lots of variety!
Alot of our towns around her in NC are going to run out of water by January at the rate we're going. The leaves are just starting to change but we have more 80F weather this week! I think there will be instant mulch here too when they do fall.

Capped the race preparation phase off with a peppy 18.3 miler on mostly nice wide trails with lots of good hills. 2:45:40 which is the same as I ran this 3 weeks ago. Nice low HR also. Let the taper begin!!

Have fun Tom, glad the hip is cooperating.

7 er 8 on the trails in the NC Arboretum south of Asheville, NC. It was a weekly group run advertized by the local running store.
My group's pace was a tad pushier than I probably would have done solo. Also a bit longer than I figured on too. But I was breathing easier by the last half since it had more downhill. I dragged up the rear the whole way. It was great fun for a beautiful day on well maintained, easy trails.
Metric Century, 62 plus a bit. I was awful, finally realized when the ride was over my back brake was rubbing. Bike had fallen while we were stopped and I was trying to get something out of the wedge. DOH

..... hmm, let's see if I remember how to do this, it's been a while... gave up on B&B... just too busy.... I used to hang @ Kick way back.... now hang on the ultra [dark] side of things... but didn't get any younger so I guess I still qualify to post here.
Ran down the side of my local canal Lachine[montreal] and back in beautiful, breezy sunshine with a buddy... 15.5 miles of chat later we parked ourselves in a wonderful patisserie, ate brioche drank espresso ... and then went on with our days. Sundays were made for this.cheers
This sounds idyllic! Welcome, Grommit. (What tomwhite said).

I got up early this morning to get in a 5 mile run before the rest of my weekend activities had a chance to interfere. I ended up with 5.25 miles plus 1 mile of w/u and c/d walking. This adds up to a total weekly running mileage of 16, which is the highest in almost 6 months for me. I'm feeling good, with just a little soreness in my hip. I think a day off tomorrow will take care of that.

Hey, grommit! Tell me your running buddy is Wallace, and you're in like Flynn around here (assuming you're old too).

perch, now THAT is the way to finish training. You are in shape, man!

Checked in to see about Tammy and Johnny. Hope to get to the RRs (choovie, Road Hawk) when I'm a little peppier. Mustang Sally kicked my Easter bunny butt around Victoria this morning, so much so I had to tie my jacket around my waist.
