Hmmmmm. RA's got some issues this morning, so I'll start the daily here. Looks like y'all got the H&H too.

I got 10.25 in this morning while it was still cool enough not to seem crazily humid....the last four were MP-ish.

Good morning Walt and those to follow. DH and I took a good video spin class but I didn't have it in the tank. My stomach was bothering me when I woke up this morning (could be related to the 2 pina coladas I had last night) and I think I may have been slightly dehydrated. It was hot in the class and I was pouring sweat, but really no hotter than other mornings there. Anyway, feeling much better now and will head out to buy a gift certificate for one of my nieces, who is turning 14 in 2 weeks. My sister says my niece actually sleeps with her phone in her hand......these kids are too much with the stupid texting! It takes me forever to do a text; I guess I'm showing my age.

Morning or afternoon all

I went racing today and won a 42km(25.75miles) trail race. Happy about this as I was in control of the pace from the start and in the last 10km ran away from 2nd place. My continuing approach of not doing long runs but entering a race about every 4 weeks seems to be working well.

Have spent this afternoon watching the Grand Prix and now have the tour on the TV.

I hope everyone else is having a lovely day.

Off to try & tackle the hills again today. Yesterday I left too late, and it was very warm already... I ran 2 miles and walked the 1 1/2 miles back. My goal to enjoy my runs, so that is what I'm doing.

Hi Walt!

Nice race Gobi.

Took a different approach to my LR this morning, running it as slowly as I could. Very happy with 16 miles today and felt fine at the end. Spareribs

Good morn ing everyone, happy Sunday.

I like your plan Gobi, and it seems to be paying off.

Econo, i got upset at the end of last week because I could not post to KR. My devices kept locking up or timing out or repeatedly refreshing. I swore off KR and moved to RA. With a little prompting from our favorite duck I went through all my settings, made a few tweaks, now I'm fine. I got such a warm welcome at that other place, though, that I think I'll have to figure out a way to keep up with both boards. Heck I live at two places in real life (my country house and Mr. Hawks city condo), I'm sure I can mange two homes in cyber space too.

12.5mi 8min pace, a little uncomfortable.

at the top of the hill at mi 11, my 98lb running pal caught a wiff of the water fountain and decided to trip me up to get there first. hit the pavement with my hand, rolled on my shoulder... got scraped up nicely. of course she claims that i tripped over a parking lot tire puncture thingy, but i'm sticking to my story.

ah lance, it was a nice ride for the yellow while it lasted... c'est la vie...

Ran 2 miles again today, maybe slightly more than yesterday.. and its hot out there! ok I'm a wimp and all, but I am proud of myself that I ran 2 days in a row 2 miles in the heat, instead of blowing it off altogether. :D Its all in how you look at it, I could be upset that I blew off the tackling the hills, but I choose not to & to be proud of what I did do instead.

Off to the movies, swimming, and hanging with the kids & friends.

Rinda, I thought of you today when I planned my running route around the hills in my neighborhood. Since I'm still dealing with a cranky hamstring, I ran all the downhills and flats, and walked the uphills. Aside from one 15 second walk up a rather steep section of path in the park, I ran 5 miles nonstop and walked the remaining half-mile home. I hadn't run since Thursday, but riding the stationary bike has been doing wonders for me cardio-wise, so the running felt nice and relaxed. Still slow as molasses, but consistent and mostly easeful feeling, so I'd say it was a success.

DD is en route to San Francisco with her camp, touring and doing community service for several days. In August they go to Quebec and Montreal for a similar trip. Ah, to be young and in camp!

4 miles of a rather poorly executed recovery run. 10:57, 10:01, 9:14, and 9:01. Clearly too fast on the last 2 miles to serve as recovery. This is why I like to run recoveries short as well as slow.

Morning all...

congrats Gobi on your trail race win.Sounds like your strategy is working well.

Yeah riley....you are showing your age . Those darn kids & their texting, clothes, haircuts, etc. (Hey, I've never sent a text in my life, so what do I know anyway.)

Nice running rinda & seemom.....Is that the Boulder reservoir you're talking about??

Glad you're back Dove....there doesn't seem to be that many of us left around here anymore.

Ouch mcsolar, but a sweet recovery............I tripped over a curb & face planted once....while walking.

5.5 easy peasy recovery miles in the shade....HR in the high one teens-low 120's. Still way humid...S-caps...that's the answer. 36 miles this week, ran 6 days including one double.

rip (from yesterday)....My little bro & I have this, or some variation of this conversation all the time. I'm just about to turn 60. When I was growing up, it was fairly easy to root for & follow your favorite team, as the players were pretty much consistant from year to year. I'm not advocaing a return to what things were like before free agency. I'm on the players side in that matter. I'd just like to see a little more community loyality from guys like LeBron. I mean, after the first couple of million dollars a year, how much more does a person need? I know he took a pay cut to play in Miami & I know the owner in Cleveland is an a&%#$hole, but I feel sorry for the fans in the Cleveland area. I grew up in LA, my teams (Dodgers / Lakers) regularly play in post season, so much that it's expected of them. I could go on about the disparity between large & small market teams in pro sports, but that's like beating a dead horse.

I wish LeBron the best in south beach (his words) and hopefully he'll get his ring. I still think he could of handled it a little better. Should of just made an announcement in Cleveland of his choice and then QUIETLY given the boys & girls clubs some money. At any rate, the best of luck to your new team. (I still thing the Lakers will kick their asses in the finals next year, that is, if they (The Heat) make it that far )

Rarely after a long run or race do I have the energy to properly do a recovery run, or I'm just too sore.

Today I did OK and ran 3.62.

For about a week or so, I've had a hip muscle that wasn't 100%, but it doesn't seem to be much of a hinderence at a moderate pace or easier.

I was sad to see Lance suffer today and will be interested to see how he rides the rest. He could be the ultimate "Super"Domestic.

As for the World Cup final, I have been in calmer war zones where better football is played.

Good running at your Rattlesnake 50 yesterday, JJJ....... sorry you didn't hit your goal. Congrats to Beth!

Glad your sticking with us, Dove! I'd hate to see you go.

Hi Walt!

Thanks for the {{{}}}'s yesterday. Ankle is pretty swollen and has a nice bruise on it, but I'm getting around the garden doing my trimming without a limp, so it's not too bad. The good news is the ATs feel OK. I'll call the PT tomorrow to have him look at it and consider the next bit as the forced rest for the ATs that I probably needed anyway. And yes Johnny, there was hardware.

DH and I just finished watching the soccer final. I'm not exactly a fan, but this one was worth watching. South Africa did a bang up job as host.

Enjoy the day!

Hi All. Nice Race Gobi. Hope you wore your KR singlet.

4 mile recovery jog in 40:00, including 6*100m (ok the first one was about 80m). Got in 14 throws and felt like I had a breakthrough on about the 10th one, Really hit my base solidly and had two very nice throws. Then I was tired and the next few were not so great, just like that, so I threw in the towel.
