Good morning! DH and I had a decent video spin class and are getting ready to take the doggies out for a short hike to our favorite little waterfall. They will be ecstatic; we will be exhausted from their pulling on the leashes. But we do enjoy seeing them have a wonderful time.

Enjoy your day, everyone.

The usual hour on the exercise bike, hills program at level 9 which meant the power topped out about 261 watts. I'll stay in unstructured workout mode through the end of Oct and then get busy.

Stopped by the pool up here last night. It's about 10 meters long. No really effective for IM training so I guess I'll figure out what dryland training I can do while I'm up here and go with the overload when I'm in town.

Steelers will be whuppin some Browns butt today!

Enjoy the pups Susan! Sucks about the pool, mike. But you'll figure out some other workouts - upper body weights?

About a 8-mile run this morning with a friend. Needed to go a little longer - 2 more ling runs before the HM, but I could have somehow gotten another 5 this morning if I had to and it was pretty hilly. Just be glad to participate in a race even if it's not a PR!! Happy beautiful fall day! Go Eagles!

Ah...fall is finally here. A drizzly cool morning - perfect for a long run! Did 22 this morning at a very easy pace. It's a hilly route, but fairly scenic and makes an easy out and back. Felt pretty good out there, and feeling good now after my awesome new post-long-run-drink (milk, ice, avocado, agave nectar and a little protein powder in the Magic Bullet = YUM!). Wish I had come up with that on my own - stole the idea from someone.

Our SGA had a 5k to benefit wounded soldiers.

It's the 17th of October and the temp at race start was 80 degrees. Ummmm....yeah, right.

So, I ran with a plan to hang on.

For most of it, I was in FRONT of the entire Army ROTC battallion, but then they passed me going up a hill.

34:03 (unofficial) -- not a bad effort, especially considering the warm temps.

I did find that it is VERY hard to slack off if the army is behind you talking about people jumping out of planes with boots on. lol

Mike, can you get those elastic things you hook to the pool? kind of like an endless pool. OR maybe get the company to buy a motor or something for the pool

The elastic bands might be an option. But the pool is a 25 min drive away from where I work and sleep and when I'm working 12 hour days that's hard to justify. I will probably just figure out a dry-land training program when I'm up north and hit the pool hard when I'm at home.
