Morning party people

8 mile trail race on tap for today. No real goals, I'll probably just make it a cruise/tempo run. As with most trail races, there is no AG awards, so no stress there. Not real sure how this race is gonna work seeing its a 4 mile trail, then turn around and run back... if you're in FOP, its gonna be crazy running around everyone behind you on a single track trail. That may be why last years top finishers are not that impressive...?

BBS - hope the trail race worked out for you. The faster runners should just push the slower runners into the bushes.

I got out for my last longish run (again). 12 miles, 40F. Felt like I was going faster that my time shows... probably should have eaten something beforehand and not stayed up late last night... oh well. Had a close encounter with two bucks.

2000m of splishing and splashing. Need to find some sort of training plan so I'm not just aimlessly going back and forth in the fishbowl. Beautiful day, so I'll be heading out for a spin in just a bit.

Hey all,

Just relaxing for now. Watched some of the Marine Corps Marathon on the web earlier.

Feel pretty good after the 20 yesterday. Soccer tonight. If I feel sufficiently inspired and/or not too busy with chores this afternoon I might go out for a shakeout mile or two in the VFFs -- speaking of the Five Fingers I just used a gift card I had lying around from Eastern Mtn. Sports to snag some high-tech socks...buy 3 pairs and get one free...well, my free pair ended up being a pair of Injinjis that I can wear with the VFFs. Without those I doubt the VFFs would come out much again til spring.

BBS - hope you rocked that race

Mom- glad you got the swim in

Fun race. Should have started up front though... First 2 miles were 10:xx and 9:xx... me and another girl finally broke away and got on a better pace. Passed tons of people (when possible), but only 2 after the turn around. Finished 25th in 1:06:xx. Lost at least 4 minutes w/ all the congestion. Had fun tho.

Hawk - Nice take on the socks. Are those the ones with on toe in each hole? Do you like those?

Mom - Enjoy that weather. Certainly none of it here.

RA - Them bucks are pretty impressive when you see them out there. A couple have given me the ol evil eye.

Sounds like a productive weekend for you guys! Nearly got what I wanted to get done, not much in the running department though. Hoping to pick that up more this week though. Off to a banquet tonight (free food that isn't sandwiches- score!) and wrapping up my lesson plan afterward that I get to teach tomorrow.

John- As per your ? last week...Ended up with a 28:16.
