Well, I've been MIA the past two days so I guess illl start us off today

no run Friday(srd), and yesterday I decided to take a 'life' day to get caught up on some stuff

so I'm having to attempt my long run this morning. Hoping for 18 miles. I left my freaking water bottle at home and only have one GU to my name. Allready 67* here and sposed to be windy. Not too concerned about time and paces today- just hoping I live thru it.

Mom- good luck out there today!!

Morning...

BBS - Hope you're able to tough it out. That'll be a confidence booster.

I'm getting closer. Almost symptom free and after a super long day yesterday didn't wake feeling anything but normal tired. Fingers crossed!

Morning guys,

Nothing on tap for me other than some soccer today. I had told the team I wouldn't be playing while in taper for NYC but then we ended up short on players today, so now I need to play. Do I worry about something bad happening? A little, but not once I'm out there playing. I'm not the type to get in a lot of those physical tangles anyway, not my game. I'll just play and make sure to do my stretching afterwards.

The longish run planned for today will have to come off as BCOD Monday morning run.

BBS - hope the long run went well. Take some cash with you, at least if you do run out of fluids/gels you can make an emergency stop at a 7-11.

Dan - glad to hear you are turning the corner, expect to see a run report from you tomorrow.

Morning all, heading off to yoga to make it 3 consecutive days, which will be a first. Fall colors are out in force, would make for a nice run, but should get to enjoy it outside with the kids later.

BBS - Hope you got your fuel and the 18 went well

Dan - Sounds like it's coming along, keep feeling better.

Hawk - Way to take one for the team... hopfully you'll be rewarded with a great run tomorrow!

Morning, peeps.

BBS -- Hope you can get some fluids somewhere on that long run? River or creek? Mud puddle maybe?

Dan -- Great news. All fingers and toes crossed here.

Hawk -- Careful out there, brother. I might be nearly as excited as you are for NYC.

zrun -- Been meaning to give yoga a whirl for years. Must do that. Enjoy your family later.

Me -- Windy and rainy. Hope things calm a bit so I can get out for ten.

8.5 hilly trail miles this morning. Saw loopy as he finished his loop of the trail and we hung out and chatted for a while.

18 miles in 2:36. I had to stop at a crossing due to a car and stopped my watch at 15.69 miles, walked maybe 1/4 mi, stretched, then finished my run. Not great, but better than last week. Oh yea, did it all with no drinky... I know it wasn't too smart. I was feelin quite parched out there today. And if that wasn't bad enough.... I fueled up on a chocolate chip cookie dough pop tart for my pre run supplement...

Back from 90 minutes yoga and the scale says I am 6lbs lighter than when I got up this morining. Seems crazy, but I did push hard and was dripping sweat pretty much the whole time. Time for lots of fluids.

Man, BBS, nice job with the 18; you gotta start fueling up the long runs, and definitely for recovery.

Chances - good luck getting the 10 in. Good to see you are up to itafter the tri.

Jill - sounds cool, way to go on the hills.

Kfuller - rest up

Good afternoon,

Yes I actually did a Sunday run at the BCOD today. Plan called for 12 but I ended up at 13 miles with an 8:51 pace. A few times I lost my concentration on my pace and I slowed down a bit. I should set my pace alert on my garmin again so it won't happen any more.

Nice Runs everyone.

So, 1st and last 10k of the year... went out way too fast, faded and finished with a foot race, pulling a kick out of my ass to hold of a few folks.

My official time was 38:44 for 19th OA and 5th AG. My time was a nice surprise as I had low expectations. I ran 38:36 last year and 37:58 in 2008.

Splits: 5:59; 6:18; 6:12; 6:18; 6:22; 6:20; 1:14.

The stretches running south were into the wind and my slowest splits but I was toast by 4 miles. I was dropped by a guy who'd just run the 5k... One guy passed me near the line and pushed me down to 5th in my division by 2 seconds. 40-44 is tough.

DW ran the 5k and got 2nd in her division with 21:48 (could be a PR). She lost a sprint to the finish by 1 second. Yep that gal was her division.

FB - nice job on the long run

zrun - the should have hot yoga on the Biggest Loser.

BBS - I take fluids and gels with me. I may not have anything but I have them if needed. Recover well

kfuller - enjoy the day of rest

Jill - nice job of the hills

Chances - get that 10 in.

Hawk - have fun with the soccer sprints. Sorry about you Phillies.

Dan - finally!

Fail. 65* at the start, 77* at the finish, with full sun. Just not in the cards for today. I did get to see roots and SGH!

Okay, on what planet is it okay to step over a downed runner at the finish without asking if they are okay? No, I wasn't.

Boo! Hiss! Hope you are OK. Sounds Chicago-esque. Any chance of a make up marathon, as per my plan?

That sucks about the race 4bm. It seemed all week like you'd get good weather- nice and cool. You'd think a fellow runner would understand what you were going through at the end and not be a punk like that. You're tough, you'll get 'em next time.

For me, got a 16 miler in very very slowly. WGN airing Without Limits right before I went out the door did not help the heart rate stay low...

Except for the rain I think the running conditions here are just right. For those of you with the hotter than warmer conditions it will feel like winter soon.

4bm- Sorry to hear about the bad day and the hot temperatures.

Sorry about the tough race days, 4bm and RA.

Soccer was a bust from a team standpoint as we got crushed 7-0 That hasn't happened in along time. But very strong opponent, us missing a lot of our top players. Add it up. I got lots of running in on the field, that's for sure. Oh well. At least I got a workout in & stayed healthy.
