Hi vash.

Enjoy those rests BBS and Kevin.

I ran with loopy yesterday on the trails. He's alive and well! When he and the others left I went back out to explore some new trails, ending up with almost 13.5 hilly trail miles. This morning I met up with some other folks for around 8 miles on the trails, up & down the mountain. Hoping to get some more trails in tomorrow morning before it gets too hot.

Have a great Sunday!

Dan- Good luck starting her back up tomorrow

Jill- it seems as if the trail bug has bitten you as well. I have not hit any trails in a little over a week and I'm feigning!

4.25 miles on the ol' hoopty bike. One wipeout trying to ride a wheelie... no one saw.

BBS - the last time I pulled a wheelie on a bike was... err... 25-30 years ago... we did some really stupid stuff on our bikes, e.g. making Evel Kenievil ramps in the backyard.

Jill - nice job on the trails! Good to hear Loopy is alive and kicking

Dan - wow, you really cracked your knee. Fingers crossed for a return ASAP

kfuller - enjoy the round and round before a crash. Maybe DD will want to watch Cars again?

This morning I attempted to take DD out in the BOB for a recovery paced 5'er. After 10 yards she was shouting "no running"...err... does not compute... does not compute.... So after walking another 1/4 mile I heard the rumble of thunder so went back home. Perhaps she's just plain smart? 50/50 whether I'll get anything in this afternoon.

Hey aall...I decided to hit up the local track meet this morning. they do one every 2 weeks throughout the summer. Got there about 9:30 and ended up waiting 2.5 hours for my event (3000m). By the time it rolled around the temperature had gone up 10 degrees to 88. And I was tired from 13 miles of trails yesterday. Not to mention I'm really rusty at short distances right now. Turned out only 3 of us were running it and the other 2 guys were both young and way faster than me. I was well off their pace in 11:29. Funny thing is before the race I said I'd take anything under 11:30.

Afterwards I put the Five Fingers on & jogged around on the grass for awhile. Between warmups, cooldowns and just moving to keep from getting too bored waiting to race...maybe 5 miles total?

Anyway, now it's time to taper for North Face.

Nice running all.

Brick workout this afternoon. Headed up to the lake. Still pretty chilly. Last weekend it was 62* and with the cool temps, suspect it's still about the same. Started off on the wrong foot by ripping the only two swim caps I had. Wicked windy, so we opted to start into the wind. Son1 bailed, saying he was too cold (did I not suggest we wear more than just shorts as last week we did really well with tights and long sleeve?!?!?!), while I continued on. Had a terrible swim with goggles fogging and hair in my face.

Quick transition at the van, then headed otu for a spin. Uh, yah, still windy! It's a loop course, so we did get breaks. Uneventful 18mi. Had hoped for a run, but decided I was done for the day.

First tri of the season is next weekend. Still undecided if I'm doing it or not.

Decided to go to the gym... it stopped raining when I got there. Typical. Anyway, 7 miles sweating on the TM when I should have been crossing training and lifting weights.

Hawk - Nice job on the 3k. My legs are burning thinking about doing that after a longish run.

Hi folks, been a busy few days as I actually had an all-too-brief business trip to Hawaii and got back on a redeye yesterday morning. My folks are in town for the long weekend for son1's b-day, and I wanted to get back quick. Not much for me since Wednesday, but got in a 4 mile run Waikiki to Diamond Head and back at dawn Friday which was awesome. Then a day off yesterday and 3-4 on the treadmill today at the health club while the kids played b-ball, with an interruption to ice son2's twisted ankle, which was not so bad he couldn't keep playing afterwards. My dad and I are headed to a 5k tomorrow am and looks like it will be hot, yuck.

Dan - hope that knee starts coming around for you

RA - nice race yesterday even if sub-par for your high standards

Everyone else, great job getting in the miles, lots of 'em on the roads and trails for you guys this weekend!
