4.5 miles. Pushed the pace a bit and averaged 7:58.

46F so the running was cool into the wind but I got warm coming back. Never pleasing this guy.

Have a good run.

12 miles on the Lower Trail (Rails to Trails trail). Was hot by the end, and I got slower and slower.

Little trivia for you: Lower rhymes with flower in this case.

Great runs everyone. 6 miles easy today. Pace was a little slower then usual. I think I'm still getting used to heat/humidity but I love summer

Hi all,

Great running folks! Keep it up!

I thought about doing today's run at 5am. I actually had to get up to go the bathroom and said to myself, it's pretty cool right now.

Then I thought better of it, and went back to bed until 10am.

I did the run at 1:30 this afternoon. It was a bit warm at the start, especially in the sun. I found every speck of shade I could during the first 9 or so miles. Around mile 10 or so some clouds rolled in and blocked out the sun and a bit of a breezy wind kicked up. Nothing sustained, but enough that I could notice it. Those clouds and that wind probably kept me from calling this run at a shorter distance.

18.6 miles for me today. It was a combination of my home 15.2 mile loop, and my home 3.4 mile loop. What I did was did the first 15 miles of the 15.2 mile loop. Then did the 3.4 mile loop, then finished off the last .2 of the 15.2 mile loop.

In the data below, I took a 15.2 marker. That is actually the usual 1 mile marker for both the 15.2 mile loop and the 3.4 mile loop. I took this mark so that I could compare mile 2 from tonight with miles 15.2 to 16.2. Times were consistent. HRs were not. Most of mile 3 from tonight is the same as miles 16.2 to 17.2. Again, times were fairly consistent, HRs were not.

I'm starting to notice a trend that I don't like. My HR seems to jump 10-15 BPM right around 2 hours, sometimes more, sometimes less, but right around 2 hours. Hopefully that will improve as the training continues.

Here's the data:

Daily Run Report

Date: 05/27/2007 Time: 13:36
Run Type: Just A Run
Distance: 18.6 miles
Total time: 02:49:11.5 Average Per Mile: 00:08:49.6
Course: Home 15.2 mile loop with Home 3.4 mile loop added on.
Max HR (for entire workout): 175
Average HR: 157
Shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 10 - 05/2007 Date Entered Service: 05/08/2007 Ending Mileage: 111.6
Weather: Sunny for first 9 miles. HOME 15.2 MILE LOOP WITH HOME 3.4 MILE LOOP ADDED ON.

Plan tonight called for 18 miles. I did my home 15.2 mile loop, and added on the 3.4 mile loop starting at mile 15. Finished with 18.6 miles.

The 15.2 marker is actually the 1 mile marker on my 3.4 mile loop. I did this so I could compare mile 2 to mile 15.2 to mile 16.2 (they are over the same course). Most of 16.2 to 17.2 is the same as mile 3 as well, so comparing them makes a lot of sense. The times were almost identical, but the HRs were definitely not.

This was my longest run since last year's Bay State Marathon. My goal tonight was actually 9:00 per mile. Slightly ahead of goal pace.

The clouds rolled in at a very opportune time. The sun was starting to get to me even though I found every speck of shade I could.

Run Segments
Great run for me...8.12 into 15mph headwinds for the first half. 5x30 sec striders at the end. 7:19 pace total.

It's amazing out...mid 60s, sunny, and just perfect!

Alright Gingerbread!

5 miles for me in 51:50 on the treadmill. My ipod slipped in a bluegrass song, and I suddenly felt like George Clooney running from cops in Oh Brother Where Art Thou. I laughed out loud.

Then only 15 minutes of pilates. Miss Sunshine realized that as long as we had a DVD in, Mr Blue would be more interesting (that's what she calls Blue's Clues).

I just joined an informal cycling group, and today was my first ride with them. It was a short one, but that was fine with me. I did a longer one solo yesterday. Besides, I rode from my house to the start and that was farther than the group ride itself, so I definitely got my exercise. Had fun and met a couple of folks who might turn out to be partners in crime on the longer rides.

Thanks, everyone. I best write a report (my first) and EQ it was a race. I felt bad about how I did, but there's nothing I can do about it now.

That's what I'm thinking.
