10 mile slow and easy run early this morning with two others. Run did nothing more than beat me up, especially after yesterday's "mountain" repeats. But it was social. All good.

@Mike - yes working on Sunday. That's how a retail job works. If anyone wears the Asics Gel Nimbus 12, it's a great deal at $30 off. Several other Asics like the 2160 & 1160 are also on sale. Get them at your local Dick's Sporting Goods or online at www.dickssportinggoods.com

It will be another early day tomorrow. I have to be at work at 7AM, but I get off at 1 PM so I'll do my run then.

Was only able to manage a 20 minute super easy spin on the trainer before my leg started acting up again. Will get a doctor's appt scheduled tomorrow. Hope everyone at the bbq is having fun. I'm sorry to miss it.

Have fun, Boston-area folks with Bonnie!

Don - thanks for the sale info. I may get a few.

Another great bike day. Took my Stumpy to the Island Lake State Park. I rode the blue/yellow loop (about 15miles total?) in 2min faster than last Sept on the demo (identical bike, but handle bar was way too long). The thing is, my bike fitness was much better riding all summer long last year while I have ridden MTB only 4? times this year. Either I am better biking shape than I thought I was, or this bike fitted for me just rocks (probably latter!) I repeated the yellow loop again just to practice 'flow' and 'body weight shifting'. I enjoyed every minute of this ride! 1:45 total. I am going to use this trail for brick - ride both loops then run the yellow loop (about 6miles). Woohoooo!!!

Oh...jealous of the little BBQ in Beantown.

HM PR this morning by 1:19. Didn't manage to break the 1:50 barrier but I'm pleased. Perfect morning for it, cold but clear. Made up for all the icky training weather. The last 200 m were on the Hayward Field track. As much as I was digging deep at that point, I couldn't help stepping it up a bit knowing I was running on the same track as Shalane, Kara and other Olympic greats. Maybe that's why I spent the first 30 min post race wanting to puke. It was a good race.

Hit a brewpub and a couple of wineries on the way home.

Nicely done, Hobey. Must have been cool to finish up in a stadium setting to cheers of the spectators. Probably your fastest 1/8 mile of the race!
