Hello Party People

I never got a run in yesterday, so why not enter a 16 mile trail race on Memphis' toughest trail today? Eh, hmm.... This may not go down as my all time best decision... But I WILL have fun. Actually, it shouldn't be too bad. The trail is a figure 8 loop that is just over 3 miles long, the goal is to do 5 loops but you can quit whenever. I talked BIL into going with me, I'd like to get in at least 3 loops. Real laid back race, no entry fee, or awards. They are bringing out some really fast local trail runners to see who can nail this thing.I'm just looking to get an 'easy' long run in, eat some free food and cheer some people on. They say if you can maintain a 30 min per loop pace, you could win.... that lets you know how hard the trail is.

Kevin- Congrats on the sub 20! Hope I can get there with you one of these days.

Jebba- Congrats on your race too! Have you ever done/considered running the Stump Jumper in Chattanooga? Looks really fun... thinking about the 11 miler this year.

Hawk- Good luck today (if you do race that is)

BBS--are you NUTS?! Looks fun though!

Nuthin' for me. Got to the pool, only to find everyone standing on the deck looking at the water. It was murky with all sorts of floaty stuff. Mmmm I think not! We all chickened out. We told the guy at the front desk he needed to close the pool. He didn't know if he could do that, he couldn't get a hold of the manager. Well, then just shut it down until you can get the water tested. He'd see...

Nothing for me today of course. Walked outside to get the newspapaer only to find it snowing. Will it ever stop? I sure hope so. I am ready for spring weather. I guess we have another storm for tomorrow and then maybe some warmer weather.

BBS - nice flat course there..

4boysmom - hmm... sound like the bathroom we encountered this morning

kfuller - a well deserved rest

A decent 20 miles for me this morning. It was windy and 25F but at least it was sunny. Spring, where are you?! Tried to pick it up in the last 4 miles. Worked until the 20th mile, which was straight into the wind. Overall, a good run. Big ole brunch afterwards.

AHHH! That was brutal! It was fun though! I did 3 loops in 1:45. Guy that won did 5 in 2:32. Running up the bluff was just not an option, just walking made your legs like jello at the top, then it was time to run... I kinda wish more races was like that. So laid back, it was about 30 people, no entry fee, no medals, just good ole fashioned running.

Fun little afternoon spin for me. Son1 said he's coming down with the flu, and considering Spring quarter starts tomorrow, he felt it was best to skip this ride. Stupid windy again today. Because of yesterday's disasterous O&B ride, today I chose a loop course. Twice 'round Mill loop, each loop a skosh over 17m. The first 10 were brutal with head/cross wind. Then, I turned and enjoyed a well earned tailwind! I knew I wasn't done after the first loop so there was no question I'd do the second. And, truth be told, I probably could have done a third if I had a bit more time. Just shy of 35m total.

Asics--I really don't wanna think about comparing the pool with a dirty bathroom. The pool was bad enough. Considering I swim open water with all sorts of floaty stuff, the fact that I was grossed out should speak volumes!

BBS--nicely done! Glad it was you and not me though.

RA, I'm really hoping that spring is hiding around the corner, like 5 days or so.

Yuck on the pool 4bm. Wondering what they ended up doing.

3 hour run for me on Sunday. Felt so good running with the boys, even if they do smoke me the entire time.
